For the first time in seemingly eons, Reggie Miller is not the NBA’s all-time three-point king. Ray Allen, the best the league has seen at coming off screens since Miller retired back in 2005, surpassed Miller in Thursday’s game between the Celtics and Lakers.

In honor of Miller handing over his crown, here are 10 of his greatest moments.

10. November 6, 1987 – No. 1

Miller scored 10 points in his first NBA game, a 108-95 loss to the 76ers. He went 1-for-2 from distance in 26 minutes, hitting the first of his 2,560 three-pointers.

9. May 19, 2005 – No. 2,560

He went out with a bang in his final game, scoring 27 points on 11-for-16 shooting in a Game 6 semifinal playoff loss to the Pistons. He went 4-for-8 from three-point land in the game. Obviously, his final three-pointer is the most memorable.

8. May 7, 1995 – Eight Points In 8.9 Seconds, Part I

Miller completed one of the most memorable playoff comebacks in NBA history when he scored eight points in less than nine seconds to give Indiana a thrilling 107-105 win over New York at Madison Square Garden. His first three paved the way for the moment.

7. April 21, 2001 – Saves Pacers In Game 1 Against 76ers

Miller capped a comeback against Philadelphia with a three from the left corner with 2.9 seconds left in the first game of the best-of-five first-round series. The Pacers would lose the next three games to the East’s top seed.

6. March 18 2001 – Mr. 2,000

At Conseco Fieldhouse against the Kings, Reggie hit the 2,000th three of his career, becoming the first player in NBA history to reach the plateau. Only he and Allen are members of the elusive club.

5. June 2, 2000 – Eastern Conference Crown

The Pacers eliminated the Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, earning the team’s first and only trip to the NBA Finals. He scored 17 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter of the 93-80 victory. Any one of the five three-pointers he hit in the game fit in this slot.

4. June 1, 1994 – 25 Points At The Garden

Miller led the Pacers on a 23-3 fourth-quarter run against the Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Indiana won 93-86 thanks to Miller’s 25 points in the quarter. His signature shot came from the left corner as the shot clock expired. He then stared down Spike Lee as he trotted back on defense. He hit five threes in the quarter; then a league record.

3. May 2, 2002 – Forces Overtime Against Nets

In a decisive Game 5 against New Jersey, Miller almost single-handedly pushed the underdog Pacers to the second round. His turn-around heave from about 30-feet forced overtime.

2. May 7, 1995 – Eight Points in 8.9 Seconds, Part II

After “stealing” an inbounds pass from Greg Anthony, he hits the more important of his two as part of the epic comeback.

1. May 25, 1998 – Sprained Ankle Trey Over MJ

With the Pacers down two games to one against the Bulls, Miller hits a turnaround, game-winning three over Michael Jordan at Market Square Arena in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Bob Costas then proclaimed, “Yeah, you can dance Reggie.”
