• Caja Laboral 78, Unicaja 63

Needing a win in order to setup a pivotal Week 6 game against Lietuvos Rytas, Caja Laboral took care of business by beating Unicaja 78-63 in what was an uneven showing. After controlling the first half of play, Caja Laboral let Unicaja back into the game and tied the score at 40 early in the third quarter.

But Marcelinho Huertas was yet again too good, scoring 18 points on seven shots from the floor to go with six boards, five assists and three steals to lead Caja Laboral to an easy 15-point win. Fernando San Emeterio also had a strong outing with 12 points and seven boards.

Caja Laboral had 19 free throw attempts, compared to just five for Unicaja and also doubled them up in terms of three-point shooting with a 9-for-22 compared to 5-for-24.

Joel Freeland continues to show excellent promise in Euroleague play, scoring 15 points and grabbing eight boards. Gerald Fitch had 11 points and seven boards, but couldn't get things going from distance in this one.

With Panathinaikos, Caja Laboral and Lietuvos Rytas all standing at 3-2, the loser of that aforementioned game next will fall short of the quarters.

• Regal Barcelona 95, Maccabi Electra 85 (OT)

Basketball doesn't really get much better than this, whether it is Euroleague, the NBA, the Big East, whatever. These are probably the two best teams in Europe and even though Barcelona swept both games in Top-16, we absolutely need to see these two teams meet again in the Final Four.

Maccabi had a nine-point lead at halftime, but the scoring of Terence Morris was absolutely critical for Barcelona. He scored 19 points on 11 shots from the floor, hitting five big three-pointers. Juan Carlos Navarro wasn't quite as brilliant as we have grown accustomed, but he still managed 17 points on 10 shots. Barcelona shot 13-for-30 from distance.

Doron Perkins and Chuck Eidson had several outstanding buckets that helped energize the Tel Aviv crowd. Sofoklis Schortsanitis had 16 points down low and Jeremy Pargo had 19.

For Barcelona, they improve to 5-0 and get homecourt advantage in the quarterfinals.

Efes stayed with the surging Italian side through the first half, but Siena began to pull away with a 21-11 third quarter.

Milovan Rakovic had 15 points on nine shots for Siena, while Rimantas Kaukenas added 14. Siena's +8 on the turnover differential was key as Efes had similar shooting percentages.

Igor Rakocevic led Efes with 24 points, doing 9-for-11 damage at the line.

With the win, Siena advances to the quarterfinals and Efes is eliminated.

• Real Madrid 61, Partizan 56

The game was significantly closer than expected, but Madrid still pulled out the five-point road win to remain 5-0, while Partizan stayed 0-5.

Nikola Mirotic had 13 points and nine boards, while Ante Tomic had 21 and seven, but turned the ball over five times. Sergio Llull had his second strong game in a row after bombing against Efes in Week 3.

The two teams combined to shoot 2-for-30 from distance, but Partizan's 1-for-20 was a whole lot costlier. Rasko Katic had 14 points on seven shots and Jan Vesely had a strong 15 points and five boards.
