Monday

Golden State Warriors @ Philadelphia 76ers: Unquestionably the most surprising team in the NBA through one week gets a visit from a League Pass staple. Stephen Curry and the remarkable Michael Carter-Williams should provide plenty of firepower while Klay Thompson may play the bigger role in deciding the outcome.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Cleveland Cavaliers: Ricky Rubio. Kyrie Irving. Yes, please!

Tuesday

Utah Jazz @ Brooklyn Nets: Utah has a front line to be proud of and they will be tested against the PF/C combination of Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez. Plus, it’s Deron Williams going against his old team even though seemingly everyone from that Jazz era is gone by now.

Indiana Pacers @ Detroit Pistons: After a tough matchup with Memphis, the Detroit frontcourt of Josh Smith, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond faces Indiana and Roy Hibbert. I am excited to see how Drummond handles Hibbert’s combination of size and skill.

Houston Rockets @ Portland Trail Blazers: For some reason, I cannot shake the feeling that this will be a fun game. Dwight Howard and the Rockets have already had a few interesting games and Damian Lillard could be a tough cover for them with Patrick Beverly’s injury. LaMarcus Aldridge has had a strong start to the season and we could see the Howard/Omer Asik combo defend him more of the game.

Wednesday

Golden State Warriors @ Timberwolves: Two point guards who were nearly teammates go head-to-head in a game that could be the healthiest both of these teams have been in a match-up for years if Harrison Barnes has returned by this point. Kevin Love is a stretch four that should give Golden State’s defense plenty of problems while Stephen Curry should light it up.

New Orleans Pelicans @ Memphis Grizzlies: I just want to see Anthony Davis against Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. Such a strange and intriguing physical challenge.

Friday

Golden State Warriors @ San Antonio Spurs [Game of the Week]:- A rematch of one of the best series in the entire playoffs last season comes pretty early for a non-divisional matchup. The smallball Warriors lineup that played such an interesting role in June may not come into play here due to Harrison Barnes’ injury, but Curry and Tony Parker will still go at it.

Toronto Raptors @ Indiana Pacers: If Jonas Valanciunas wants to be considered one of the best young bigs in the league, he will need to show it in games against established centers like Hibbert. It should be fun to watch Paul George and Rudy Gay battle at both ends of the floor as well.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Philadelphia 76ers: Between the point guard matchup and Andrew Bynum returning to the arena where he never played in a game, there should be more than enough intrigue in this one. Look for the Cavs to get the Bynum awkwardness out of the way early and potentially a fascinating game the whole way through if Philly continues their run of success.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Detroit Pistons: We might get to see Josh Smith guard Kevin Durant for extended periods of time, which is strangely exciting. Oklahoma City has been a little lackluster through the first week of the season while both Brandon Jennings and Russell Westbrook will have largely shaken off the rust of their early season absences by this point.

Saturday

Los Angeles Clippers @ Houston Rockets: A rare game that works excellently as a measuring stick for both teams at the same time. If the Clippers want to be seen as the class of the conference, they need a strong showing if not a win in games like this. Houston can show how a true center can expose some of the weaknesses still retained from the Lob City era. JJ Redick will have his hands full with James Harden, though I fully expect Matt Barnes to play a major role on defense.

Dallas Mavericks @ Milwaukee Bucks: Beyond marking the return of Monta Ellis to his most recent stomping grounds and the best time for GIANNIS! to make an appearance in NNGW, this could be an incredibly fun game between two teams that are strange opponents. I sincerely hope we see LARRY SANDERS! guard Dirk Nowitzki at some point just to see what happens.
