The Euroleague 2014-15 season has approached its midway point as each of the remaining Top 16 teams played 16 out of maximum possible 31 games. With the season halfway done, RealGM ranked the ten most outstanding players and leading candidates to win the most prestigious individual award in European club basketball.

- All records and stats through Game 5 of Top-16.

10. Felipe Reyes - Real Madrid (4 wins - 1 loss)

12 points and 6.6 rebounds in 19 minutes.

When we ranked Felipe Reyes as the fourth best power forward in our latest Euroleague positional players ranking, we believed that this might be the last season of Reyes making the Top 10. However, Reyes, who will turn 35 next month, revived his career by having the best season since 2008-09 and putting his name into Euroleague history books after becoming Eurolegue all-time rebounding leader. In his 11th Euroleague season, Reyes averages 12 points and 6.6 rebounds in just 19 minutes and has more high quality basketball still in him than we thought.

9. Boban Marjanovic - Crvena Zvezda Belgrade (1-4)

15.6 points and 9.9 rebounds in 28 minutes.

7-foot-5 center Boban Marjanovic, who leads the league in rebounds, made a huge leap in his career over the last three years, transforming from just an unbelievably tall big man who averaged five points and four rebounds, to become a decisive factor in Euroleague games and eventually a candidate to win the MVP prize. Marjanovic also leads the league in double-doubles with eight under his belt, leaving Ante Tomic and Trey Thomspon (each recorded four) far behind.

8. Ante Tomic - FC Barcelona (3-2)

11.3 points and 7.5 rebounds in 23 minutes.

Ante Tomic has been one of the best rebounders and most efficient Euroleague's players inside the paint this season, averaging a career-high 7.5 rebounds per game. The 7-foot-2 Tomic recorded four double-doubles in 15 games and grabbed at least nine rebounds in four out of five Top 16 matches. However, consistent contribution from Tomic did not guarantee an easy life for FC Barcelona, who lost two Euroleague games out of their last five and hold a 13-6 record in Spanish league (Liga Endesa).

7. Taylor Rochestie - Nizhny Novgorod (2-3)

19.5 points (50% 3FG) and 6.4 assists in 31 minutes.

Taylor Rochestie proved the importance of being at the right place at the right time in basketball. After first two sloppy Euroleague seasons with Laboral Kutxa and Montepaschi, the move to Nizhny Novgorod made Rochestie’s career skyrocket. The 29-year-old point guard got freedom from head coach Ainars Bagatskis and in return Rochestie brought MVP candidate-worthy numbers. Rochestie is Euroleague’s scoring leader, also ranking third in assists, while Nitzhny Novgorod keeps playing beyond expectations.

6. Vassilis Spanoulis - Olympiakcs Piraeus (4-1)

16 points, 2.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 29 minutes.

Since joining Olympiacos in 2010, Vassilis Spanoulis has always been a reliable leader, averaging no less than 14 points in each of those five seasons. Once again, Spanoulis is among Euroleague scoring leaders, as the three-time Euroleague champion ranks fifth in scoring (16 points) and second in drawn fouls. The results of a recent Euroleague GM survey confirms his reliability as 41.7 of respondents indicated Spanoulis as a player that they would want to take a shot with the game on the line.

5. Sonny Weems - CSKA Moscow (5-0)

15.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 31 minutes

There are three players in this year’s Euroleague who average no less than 15 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. All three represent the same team - CSKA Moscow, therefore it's no surprise that the Russian club remains the only undefeated team in the tournament. Sonny Weems, one of the members of CSKA’s big three, is having a career-season as he is demonstrating his best statistical numbers since his debut in 2011. Weems raised his scoring numbers this year from 12.2 points per game to 15.2, rebounds from 3.5 to 5.3 and assists from 3.7 to 4.5.

4. Devin Smith - Maccabi Tel Aviv (4-1)

15.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 31 minutes

While Jeremy Pargo and Sofoklis Schorstanitis were not performing as expected throughout most of the regular season, Devin Smith took advantage of the situation and became a star of the team. However, there were doubts if Smith, who averages a career-high 15.2 points and 6.9 rebounds, can carry Maccabi back to the final four but recent wins over two Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid should boost Tel Aviv’s fans confidence. Maccabi is a candidate to repeat as Euroleague champion, while Smith is in the MVP conversation.

3. Nando De Colo - CSKA Moscow (5-0)

15.3 points (42% 3FG), 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 26 minutes.

Nando De Colo, January’s Euroleague MVP of the month, seemed to be a missing piece to CSKA’s championship puzzle. With De Colo on board starting from October 12th, CSKA won 30 games in a row and were undefeated for three straight months (before losing to Lokomotiv-Kuban on February 1st). De Colo might also become new member of Euroleague 50-40-90 club – first since 2011-12 - as the French guard makes 55 percent of his shots from close distance (2PT), 42 from beyond the arc and 91 from the free throw line.

2. Andrew Goudelock - Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul (3-2)

17.5 points (47% 3FG), 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 30 minutes.

Andrew Goudelock is the best rookie in the Euroleague this year, who already managed make his name in Europe by becoming the first man to sink 10 three-pointers in a single game. The former Eurocup MVP is one of the most dominating offensive players in the Euroleague, ranking second in scoring (17.5 PPG) and sharing season-high scoring result with Spanoulis (34). Despite Goudelock scoring 19 points or more in four of five Top 16 games, Fenerbahce Ulker ranks third in group F, which means no home-court advantage for Istanbul team in the playoffs.

1. Milos Teodosic - CSKA Moscow (5 wins - 0 losses)

16.6 points, 3 rebounds, 7.6 assists in 30 minutes.

2014 has been a great year for red-hot CSKA Moscow's leader Milos Teodosic. The Serbian point guard carried his national team to the final game of the 2014 FIBA World Cup and now leads the only undefeated Euroleague team by scoring in double digits and dishing out no less than four assists in every single game he played this season. No surprise, our Euroleague MVP ranking leader finished second in this year’s FIBA Europe men’s player of the year award, where Teodosic was narrowly beaten by San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker.
