Notes

1.) Gordon and Villanueva were teammates on the 03-04 UConn team that beat Georgia Tech for the national championship. Gordon was a junior at the time, while Villanueva was a freshman.

2.) Hill and Budinger played three full seasons together at Arizona, as members of the incoming freshman class in 2006. The two were separated for two-thirds of their NBA rookie seasons while Hill was a lottery pick for the Knicks.

3.) Dahntay Jones transfered to Duke from Rutgers just in time to overlap one season with Dunleavy at Duke.

4.) Willie Warren gave Oklahoma the Big 12 Freshman of the Year to complement Blake Griffin winning virtually every national player of the year award. Their team was a little thin overall and were outmatched in the tournament by eventual champion North Carolina.

5.) Miller and Haslem were roommates while at Florida and each sacrificed significant money to reunite as complementary pieces for the Big 3 with Miami.

6.) Flynn and Johnson never stepped foot onto the Carrier Dome floor for a live game, but they practiced together during the 08-09 season when the latter was a transfer from Iowa State. The two got on famously and developed a friendship off the floor.

Minnesota played a preseason game at Syracuse before the current season as a nod to Flynn and Johnson.

7. Duhon played his first two seasons at Duke with Jay Williams and then his second two seasons with current NBA teammate J.J. Redick.

8. Babbitt and Johnson first became acquainted in the Reno area while in elementary school and the latter attempted to convince the former to join him at Nevada. Babbitt eventually backed out of his verbal agreement with Ohio State and decided to stay close to home with the Wolfpack, where they played together for two seasons before ending up with the Blazers
