There are 53 former Big East players currently in the NBA, led by Connecticut with 10. Even though other schools have been able to win conference titles, UConn has consistently recruited and produced excellent NBA-level talent.

Jim Boeheim has recruited very well, with seven players currently in the NBA, but he has had a tough time keeping them for very long. Carmelo Anthony, Donte Greene and Wesley Johnson (transfer from Iowa State) only played one season for the Orange.

Georgetown and Louisville have done a good job in recent seasons in sending NBA players on to the next level.

One thing that is somewhat striking about the Big East has been the relative lack of All-Star talent in relation to how successful they have been in terms of always sending a large handful of schools to the tournament. Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade (who actually played in Conference-USA) are the only All-Stars to come from Big East schools since the 2001 draft class.
