Jerome Dyson of the Tulsa 66ers was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week on Monday for games played during the week of Jan. 24.
Dyson, a guard out of Connecticut who spent the 2010 NBA Summer League with the Cleveland Cavaliers, led the 66ers to a 2-1 record on the week, averaging 28.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals.
After scoring 21 points in Tulsa's 107-101 win at Springfield on Jan. 27, Dyson shot 6-of-9 from three-point range, scoring a game-high 37 points to go along with four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 66ers’ 118-98 victory over the Armor the next day.
He also scored a team-high 27 points in Tulsa’s 109-106 loss to Maine on Sunday.
On a D-League assignment from the Boston Celtics, Avery Bradley tied the league mark for steals in a game with nine, adding 14 points as the Maine Red Claws defeated the Tulsa 66ers’ 109-106.
DeShawn Sims added 26 points for Maine.
The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have recalled rookie James Anderson from the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League. He will be active for San Antonio’s game tonight against the Houston Rockets at the AT&T Center.
Anderson, a 6-6, 215-pound guard, was assigned to the Toros on January 26 for a rehab assignment.
He has been out since November 11 when he was diagnosed with a stress fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.
In Austin, Anderson played in two games, averaging 14.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per game. He shot .556 (10-18) from the field, .444 (4-9) from three-point territory and .714 (5-7) from the free throw line.
Cole Aldrich had 15 points and 12 rebounds in his D-League assignment with the Tulsa 66ers on Friday.
Aldrich went 7-for-13 from the field in the game.
In 18 D-League games, Aldrich is averaging 9.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.
James Johnson scored 28 points for the Energy in his first D-League game since his assignment by the Bulls.
The former first round pick in 2009 has played sparingly for Chicago over his first season and a half in the NBA.
Avery Bradley registered a career-high 24 points for Maine in their 113-109 loss to Erie.
Bradley, Boston's first round pick in 2010, is currently on a D-League assignment.
The Portland Trail Blazers have assigned rookie guard Armon Johnson to the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by General Manager Rich Cho.
Johnson, 21, is averaging 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 8.1 minutes in 28 games this season with the Trail Blazers.
The Suns have signed guard Zabian Dowdell to a 10-day contract, the team has announced.
The 6-3, 191-pound Dowdell returns for his second regular season stint with the Suns after signing a 10-day contract on Jan. 9, 2011.
Dowdell played 18 games of the 2010-11 season with the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA D-League, where he averaged 14.5 points, 4.6 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 29.3 minutes in 18 starts. Dowdell, who also spent 10 games with the 66ers in 2009-10, saw both his scoring and assist averages increase in 2010-11.
The Chicago Bulls will assign James Johnson to the Iowa Energy of the D-League, according to a source.
Johnson was the 16th overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft, but has only played sparingly.
Chicago hasn't used the D-League since the 07-08 season.
