The Houston Rockets assigned rookie forward Malcolm Thomas to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ NBA D-League affiliate.
Thomas, who earned a Call-Up to the Rockets from the D-Fenders on March 27, has yet to appear in a game for Houston this season. Prior to his most recent call-up, Thomas appeared in 19 games for the D-Fenders, averaging 13.8 points and 9.3 rebounds. During a previous assignment from the Spurs, he averaged 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds while with the Austin Toros.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Lester Hudson from the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.
Hudson has appeared in five games (two starts) for the Toros this season, averaging 17.6 points on .532 shooting, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.4 steals in 29.2 minutes per game. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard from the University of Tennessee-Martin was originally drafted in the second round with the 58th overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2009 NBA Draft.
The New Jersey Nets have signed free agent forward Dennis Horner from the D-League’s Springfield Armor to a 10-day contract.
Horner is the fourth player to sign a 10-day contract with the Nets this season. The 6-9 rookie from N.C. State signed with the Nets prior to training camp on December 9, 2011. He appeared in five games with New Jersey, scoring a total of four points in 16 minutes of action.
The Dakota Wizards have re-acquired forward Edwin Ubiles.
Ubiles (6-6, 205, Siena) returns to Dakota after earning his first-career Call-Up with the Washington Wizards. He scored 10 points on 4-of- 8 shooting and grabbed 2 rebounds in 18 minutes on March 24 against the Atlanta Hawks. In four games with Washington, Ubiles averaged 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 13.0 minutes.
The Wizards have signed guard/forward Cartier Martin to a 10-day contract.
Martin (6-6, 220), has averaged 18.3 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting .489 from the floor and .556 from three-point range in seven games with the Iowa Energy of the NBA D-League this season. He has appeared with the Wizards in the previous two seasons, averaging 4.3 points over 60 games with the team.
The Toronto Raptors have Ben Uzoh of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Uzoh returns to the NBA following a two-game stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this season when he averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 6.5 minutes.
The Memphis Grizzlies today re-assigned guard Josh Selby to the Reno Bighorns, the Grizzlies’ NBA Development League affiliate.
This is the second assignment for Selby.
Selby returns to the Bighorns following a four-game assignment in February, when he averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 30.8 minutes. He scored more than 20 points in three games with the Bighorns, including an NBA D-League career-high 26 points on Feb. 14 against the Austin Toros.
The Toronto Raptors signed Alan Anderson of the Canton Charge from the NBA Development League.
Anderson (6-6, 220, Michigan State) has appeared in eight games with the Charge this season, averaging 21.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 33.1 minutes.
Cory Joseph, on assignment to the Austin Toros from the San Antonio Spurs, has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played March 19-25.
Joseph, who is in the middle of his third assignment from the Spurs to the Toros, averaged 19.0 points, 9.3 assists and 9.0 rebounds last week as Austin went 3-0. He shot 57 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point land, scoring an NBA D-League season-high 25 points in a 113-103 win over the Iowa Energy on March 21. He became the ninth NBA D-League player this season to record a triple-double when he tallied 15 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists in a 112-82 win over the Maine Red Claws on March 23.
Keith Benson is being called-up from the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League, where he has appeared in 20 games this season, averaging 15.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.50 blocks in 30.6 minutes per contest.
Chris Wright previously was assigned to the Wizards on January 26 and averaged 20.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 2.33 blocks in 31.0 minutes over three games.
During his first two stints with the team, Cory Joseph averaged 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 30.0 minutes, scoring in double digits on four occasions.
