Red Claws Sign Will Foster

The Maine Red Claws have acquired 7-5 center Will Foster. Foster replaces center Garrett Stutz who has been added to the Inactive List after falling ill during the team’s current five-game road trip.

Foster, 25, spent 30 games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce this season, averaging 3.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in 15.8 minutes played. Foster, a teammate of current Red Claw Micah Downs at Gonzaga, was waived by the Skyforce on March 5. The 7-5, 260 lbs. center is in his third professional season, splitting the 2011-12 season between the Idaho Stampede, Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Skyforce. Foster has also played overseas with teams in Portugal and the Dominican Republic.

Clippers To Sign DaJuan Summers

Red Claws Acquire Josh Selby

The Maine Red Claws have acquired guard Josh Selby from the Canton Charge in a trade that will send Maine’s 2013 NBA Development League Draft selection to the Charge.

Selby, 21, played in 11 games for the Canton Charge this season while on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 15.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 32.9 minutes per games.

Chris Wright Named D-League Player Of The Week

Chris Wright of the Maine Red Claws has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Feb. 24 – March 3.  

Wright (6-8, 225, Dayton) averaged 23.0 points on 19-of-35 shooting from the field to go with 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals as the Red Claws went 2-0 on the week.

Celtics Reassign Fab Melo To D-League

The Boston Celtics have reassigned Fab Melo to the Maine Red Claws, the Celtics’ NBA Development League affiliate.

Melo (7-0, 215, Syracuse) returns to the Red Claws where he previously appeared in 20 games, averaging 11.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks in 27.4 minutes per game. Originally selected in the first round (22nd overall) by Boston in the 2012 NBA Draft, he has played in five games for the Celtics this season, scoring three points in 11 minutes.
