The Golden State Warriors have assigned Kent Bazemore and Malcolm Thomas to the Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden State’s NBA Development League affiliate.
Bazemore (6-5, 201, Old Dominion) has appeared in 45 games for Golden State this season, averaging 1.8 points and 4.4 minutes. In his previous assignments this year, he averaged 23.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 34 minutes, leading Santa Cruz to victories in all four of his games.
Thomas (6-9, 225, San Diego State) has appeared in two games for Golden State this season, totaling one point in nine minutes. On March 8, Thomas signed a 10-day contract with Golden State. He has played in 26 NBA D-League games, averaging 13.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and 32.5 minutes.
The Utah Jazz today signed Santa Cruz Warriors guard Travis Leslie.
Leslie (6-4, 205, Georgia) has played in 28 games for Santa Cruz this season, averaging 16.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 27.6 minutes. He has scored at least 20 points in nine outings, including two 30-plus point games. He was named to the Prospects All-Star squad for the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star Game and went on to win MVP honors with 19 points on 8-for-13 shooting to go along with seven rebounds in a 139-125 victory over the Futures Team.
The Jazz waived Raja Bell to create a roster spot for Leslie.
The Springfield Armor have acquired Edwin Ubiles from the Santa Cruz Warriors in exchange for the Armor’s second round selection in the 2013 NBA D-League Draft and a fifth round draft pick that was originally acquired by the Armor from the Warriors on Jan. 7 in a trade that sent Shawn Taggart to Santa Cruz and Paul Carter to Springfield.
To make room on the roster, the Armor waived guard Christian Polk. The active roster now stands at 10.
Ubiles (6-6, 204, Siena) captured NBA D-League Rookie of the Year honors following the 2011-12 season after averaging 19.6 points on 50.3% shooting, 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 34.3 minutes in 41 games (all starts) with the Dakota Wizards.
The Golden State Warriors have re-assigned big man Jeremy Tyler to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA D-League.
Tyler is schedule to play for the team’s home game on Sunday in Santa Cruz against the Erie BayHawks.
Tyler, 21, has appeared in 16 games for Golden State this season, averaging 1.1 points in 3.1 minutes per contest. He has previously been assigned to Santa Cruz four times this season, averaging 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 30.5 minutes in four games.
The Springfield Armor have acquired forward Paul Carter and a fifth round pick in the 2013 NBA D-League Draft from the Santa Cruz Warriors in exchange for Shawn Taggart.
Carter (6-8, 200, Illinois-Chicago) has appeared in nine games this season with the Idaho Stampede, averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11.3 minutes per game. Carter was traded from Idaho to Santa Cruz on Jan. 2 and had yet to appear in a game with the Warriors.
During the 2011-12 season, Carter appeared in 34 games (21 starts) after joining the Stampede following a stint in the Utah Jazz’s training camp. Carter averaged 10.8 points on .477 shooting, 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.4 minutes per game.
Taggart appeared in 13 games (five starts) with the Armor this season after being selected in the fifth round (78th overall) in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft. He held averages of 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game.
Santa Cruz Warriors guard Travis Leslie has been named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in Nov. and Dec. The honor, the first of the 2012-13 season, is also the first of Leslie’s NBA D-League career.
Leslie (6-4, 205, Georgia) led Santa Cruz to an 8-2 record during Nov. and Dec., averaging 16.4 points while shooting 55 percent from the floor to go with 7.9 rebounds. He scored in double figures in all ten games, including two 20-plus point performances.
The Golden State Warriors have recalled Kent Bazemore and Jeremy Tyler from the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League.
Both players were assigned to Golden State’s D-League affiliate on Monday (December 31) and participated in the team’s 109-93 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Tuesday.
