Rudy Fernandez Named Euroleague MVP For Top 16, Round 11

Rudy Fernandez led Real Madrid to a crucial 93-79 victory over CSKA Moscow and was named Euroleague MVP for Round 11 of the Top 16.

Having already taken the honor in Top 16 Round 3, it is the second weekly MVP award of the season for Fernandez, and the sixth of his Euroleague career.  

Fernandez finished with 28 points by shooting 5-of-9 on two-pointers, 4-of-7 on three-pointers and converted all 6 of his attempts from the free throw line. Fernandez added four rebounds, three assists and four steals to compile a performance index rating of 33, the highest of any player on a winning team this week.

Saric: Best To Stay In Europe For Development

Dario Saric will wait until after the current season to decide whether he will enter the NBA Draft, or possibly move from KK Cibona to either Turkey or Spain.

“I will not decide anything until the end of the season” said Saric. “In the summer I will determine my future. For my development the best is to stay in Europe but we’ll see what happens. I don’t even have an agent right now. I will talk with my family but I will make the final decision."

“There is not only Efes in the game. The other options are still Barcelona and Real Madrid” said Predrag Saric to 24Sata. “If Lorbek and Nachbar leaves Barcelona and if Mirotic leaves Real Madrid, they may have room for Dario” added the father of the player. “I think Dario should play in Europe two more seasons. He has to play. If he goes to a big club without guaranteed playing time, then it is better to stay with Cibona”

Thunder Interested In Rudy Fernandez

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the NBA teams inquiring about the contract status of Rudy Fernandez.

Fernandez's deal with Real Madrid for 14-15 will be worth slightly more than $4 million.

Fernandez would likely be looking for mid-level exception type money for a return to the NBA.

Rudy Fernandez Named MVP For Euroleague Top 16, Round 3

Rudy Fernandez produced one of the best nights of his magnificent career to claim the Euroleague MVP honor for Round 3 of the Top 16.

Fernandez scored 24 points to lead Real Madrid to its highest Top 16 point total in 12 years in a 111-87 victory over visiting FC Bayern Munich. 

The 28-year-old swingman went 4-for-7 on two-point shots, 4-for-6 from three and all four of his free throws.

Fernandez added five rebounds, three assists, a steal and five fouls drawn for a performance index rating of 30, the best on a winning team in the week's eight games.

Euroleague GMs Expect Real Madrid, CSKA, Olympiacos, Fenerbahce Ulker To Reach Final Four

In a survey of Euroleague general managers, Real Madrid, CSKA, Olympiacos and Fenerbahce Ulker were voted for the teams most likely to reach the Final Four.

Barcelona was fifth with just 25 percent compared to 87.5 percent for fourth ranked Fenerbahce Ulker.

Fenerbahce Ulker has begun the Top 16 stage with two losses.

Sergio Rodriguez Signs Contract Extension With Real Madrid Through 2018

Sergio Rodriguez has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid until the 2018 season.

Rodriguez has played with Real Madrid since the last of four NBA seasons with the New York Knicks in 2009-10.

Rodriguez was a first round draft pick by the Phoenix Suns in 2006 and played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings. He averaged 4.3 points in 285 NBA games.

Bulls Meet With Nikola Mirotic, Hoping For Buyout For 14-15 Season

Officials from the Chicago Bulls met with Nikola Mirotic on Saturday.

The Bulls are doing everything they can to bring Mirotic to the NBA for the 14-15 season, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Mirotic is having another excellent season for Real Madrid in the Euroleague and Spanish ACB.

Nikola Mirotic Named Euroleague MVP For October

Nikola Mirotic has been named Euroleague MVP for the month of October.

Mirotic helped lead Real Madrid to a 3-0 record while averaging 16.3 points per game on 71.4 percent two-point shooting, 85.7 percent from three and 91.7 percent from the free throw line. Mirotic also averaged 6.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1 block per game.

Mirotic's per-minute index rating was 48.14, which is 30 percent higher than the full-season record average of 37.21 by Arvydas Sabonis.

Nikola Mirotic Named Euroleague Week 1 MVP

Nikola Mirotic of Real Madrid has been named Euroleague MVP for Regular Season Game 1.

Mirotic had 18 points on near-perfect shooting as Real Madrid defeated Zalgiris Kaunas 83-63.

Mirotic downed 3-of-4 three-pointers and also collected five rebounds, two steals and a block as part of his performance index rating of 27, which was the most among all players on winning teams in any of the week’s 12 games.

The Chicago Bulls own the draft rights to Mirotic.
