Wizards Show Interest In Will Bynum

Jan 28, 2015 12:42 PM

Along with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Washington Wizards have expressed interest on Will Bynum in the Chinese Basketball Association, league sources told RealGM.

Since arriving on Guangdong Southern, Bynum has scored 23.2 points and dished 7.4 assists a game while leading the club to an undefeated record. Guangdong is 32-3 and could play until late March, delaying Bynum’s potential return to the NBA.

In seven seasons with the Detroit Pistons, Bynum averaged 8.2 points, 3.3 assists and 18.5 minutes in 353 games. He was traded to the Boston Celtics in October and subsequently released.

Washington has one spot available on its roster.

Free agent forward Jeff Adrien has reached agreement on an extremely lucrative contract with Guangdong of the Chinese Basketball Association, sources told RealGM.

Despite NBA interest and 10-day contract possibilities, Adrien decided to accept a guaranteed deal with Guangdong, where he will team with Will Bynum for the remainder of the Chinese season. Adrien will pursue an NBA deal once his season in China ends.

Adrien played 17 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season, signing with the franchise in late November under the NBA’s hardship exception. He averaged 3.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for Minnesota.

An active, 6-foot-7 forward, Adrien has averaged 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds over five seasons.

Emmanuel Mudiay Signs Endorsement Deal With Under Armour

Sep 16, 2014 2:08 PM

Under Armour Basketball has signed Emmanuel Mudiay to an endorsement deal.

Mudiay is set to travel to China this month to begin preparing for his debut professional season in the Chinese Basketball Association. Many draft experts project Mudiay to be a top five NBA Draft pick in 2015 because of his combination of size, speed and natural feel for the game.

"With Emmanuel joining our roster, Under Armour Basketball has added one of the game's best young players to our team," said Matt Mirchin, EVP, Global Marketing, Under Armour. "For such a young player, Emmanuel has a complete game, is a leader and plays with a toughness that stands out the moment you see him step on the court. When you combine that with his commitment to training and his positive attitude, he has the potential to be a special player for a long time. We're proud to now be a part of his journey."

Born in Congo, Mudiay began playing basketball in middle school in the Dallas area.
