Songaila's Contract With BC Donetsk Has Out To Sign With NBA Team In-Season

Darius Songaila recently signed a deal with BC Donetsk in the Ukraine that will allow him to sign with an NBA team during the season.

"I don't want to spend the whole year somewhere in Europe far away from my daughter. It would be much better if I could live in the States, where I could visit her without too much effort," Songaila said to lrytas.lt.

"The short-term contract was my idea. I didn't want to just sit at home, because NBA training camps start only in the end of September, while the actual season doesn't begin until November. We signed a contract that would allow me to leave," said Songaila.

D'or Fischer Signs With BC Donetsk

D'or Fischer has signed with BC Donetsk.

Fischer was recently linked to Real Madrid a return to Real Madrid. Fischer played last season for Bilbao Basket.

BC Donetsk are the champions of the Ukraine and will also compete in Eurocup.

Eric Devendorf has signed a contract with Dnipro Azot, a club located in the Ukraine.

Devendorf split last season with the Idaho Stampede and the Reno Bighorns of the NBA D-League.

Qyntel Woods Signs With Dnipro

Qyntel Woods has signed to play the upcoming season with Dnipro of the Ukrainian Superleague.

Woods, a 2002 first round pick of the Blazers, has played in Poland, Russia, Italy and Greece.

Woods averaged 12.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steal during a 26 game stint with Dnipro last season.
