Lewis Jackson signed a one-year contract to play for BC Siauliai, a professional team in Lithuania.

Jackson, who expects to earn in the $50,000-to-$100,000 range this season, hopes to use his time with Siauliai as a springboard to an even better professional opportunity next season.

“It’s why my agent pushed so much for this particular job,” Jackson said. “It’s a proving ground, and it’s known as a great league. I will make a nice little amount. It’s not the greatest pay, but for me starting out as a rookie, it’s a good amount.

“Having been in college, I know how to budget. Besides, I’ve never been one who has wanted to go buy a whole lot of things.”
