Dimitris Diamantidis of Panathinaikos Athens has been named Euroleague MVP for the month of December.
Diamantidis’ totals for the month of December were 14.8 points per game on 12-of-24 three-point shooting (50%), 11-of-12 free throw shooting (91.7%), 7.3 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals for a 20.3 average index rating.
Panathinaikos has been dealing with a rash of injuries throughout the month.
Steve Francis has decided to leave his Chinese team after playing in just four games over two weeks.
Francis was out-of-shape and played just 14 minutes for the Beijing Ducks, according to the Chinese media.
The three-time NBA All-Star left the stadium midway through the Ducks' 104-89 victory over the Jiangsu Dragons on Sunday
Francis had reportedly signed with the Ducks for $800,000 for the 32-game 2010-11 season, a portion of which he will receive as a settlement.
"I feel unhappy that I couldn't play the game. I know I was not well-prepared physically to help the team on court. As the team is in hot form, I think it is best for both sides for me to terminate my contract," Francis was quoted as telling Beijing Television on Monday afternoon.
Allen Iverson used his Twitter feed to indirectly deny rumors that he may be leaving Turkey to return to the United States soon.
It had been reported that Iverson was close to leaving Besiktas, whom he has been with for roughly a month.
"What's up everybody? I want all of yall to know that I am very happy here in Istanbul. My family and I are making this our home," Iverson wrote on his Twitter page Saturday night.
"For those of you who care about me, just know that I am very pleased and enjoying this ride!"
Allen Iverson may be close to leaving Besiktas of the Turkish League, according to a report by Sportando.
Iverson has been criticized since his arrival in Turkey for his bad performances.
He is averaging 12.3 points per game in three Eurocup games.
