Daequan Cook Signs In Germany For Remainder Of Season

Daequan Cook has signed with Tigers Tübingen of the German Basketball Bundesliga for the remainder of the season.

"I want to continue my basketball career in Germany, because I just love basketball," Cook told the DPA. "It will be a great experience for me."

Cook last played in Ukraine for BK Budiwelnyk Kiev.

Ivey received the offer during his first 10-day contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, which expired on Sunday.

Ivey appeared in two games in his stint with the Thunder, who went 7-0 in that span.

Krunoslav Simon Named Euroleague MVP For Top 16, Round 4

Krunoslav Simon produced the best performance of his Euroleague career, to win Top 16 Round 4 MVP honors.

Simon led Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar to its second straight Top 16 victory in an 80-75 come-from-behind home effort over Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday night. Simon spent nearly 34 minutes on the floor, in which he amassed 21 points while connecting on four of his five two-point tries, four of six three-point attempts, and converted on his only trip to the free-throw line.

Simon also had a career-high eight assists, pulled down six rebounds, had two steals, a block, and drew six fouls for a new personal best index performance rating of 35.

Maccabi Haifa Bazan's Donta Smith has been named Eurocup MVP for Week 3 of the Last 32 stage with the highest index rating among winning players this week, 40, which incidentally was also the highest overall.

Smith led Maccabi with his perfect shooting for 24 points - 9-of-9 on two-pointers, 1-of-1 on threes and 3-of-3 on free throws, along with six rebounds, two steals, one block and three drawn fouls for a resounding 86-66 home win over Montepaschi Siena.

Mickael Pietrus Talking To NBA Teams, Remains Uninterested In Overseas Offers

Despite the lack of a deal forming in the NBA, free agent forward Mickael Pietrus hasn’t started to consider signing overseas, rejecting significant offers, a source told RealGM.

For Pietrus, there’s no desire to play outside the NBA, and his representatives have repeatedly gauged interest within the league. Two NBA teams are maintaining steady inquiries on Pietrus, a source said, and the 31-year-old has been working out in Orlando.

In 10 NBA seasons, Pietrus has averaged 8.3 points and 3.1 rebounds, playing for five teams including the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors.

Regarded as a defensive, floor-spacing wing, Pietrus received limited minutes with the Raptors a year ago.

According to Spanish site Encentado, Turkish club Fenerbahce has reportedly been looking to acquire Nando De Colo.

De Colo has appeared in just 13 games with the San Antonio Spurs this season as Gregg Popovich has a lot of depth at guard.

The Spurs appear unwilling to let De Colo leave.

Rudy Fernandez produced one of the best nights of his magnificent career to claim the Euroleague MVP honor for Round 3 of the Top 16.

Fernandez scored 24 points to lead Real Madrid to its highest Top 16 point total in 12 years in a 111-87 victory over visiting FC Bayern Munich. 

The 28-year-old swingman went 4-for-7 on two-point shots, 4-for-6 from three and all four of his free throws.

Fernandez added five rebounds, three assists, a steal and five fouls drawn for a performance index rating of 30, the best on a winning team in the week's eight games.

Derrick Byars To Sign Deal With Russian Team

Free agent forward Derrick Byars has reached agreement on a deal with Krasny Oktyabr of the European League, a source told RealGM.

Byars will sign with the Russian club for the remainder of the season.

Byars, 30, appeared in training camp with the Memphis Grizzlies this season, and he’s also signed free agent deals with the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs in a professional career out of four collegiate years at Vanderbilt and Virginia.

Byars averaged five points and 5.5 rebounds in two regular season games with the San Antonio Spurs in 2012. The 6-foot-7 active forward was a second round pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in 2007.
