Jan Vesely Not Rushing NBA Return

Sep 19, 2015 10:51 AM

Jan Vesely has developed his game since returning to Europe after his stint as a high lottery pick in the NBA.

"I've got more experience from playing at Fenerbahce," Vesely told ESPN.com. "We did a great job here. And I'm playing my own game. That's why I left the NBA, to go to a team where I can play. I'm happy with how things are going right now."

Vesely has averaged 18.8 points and a tournament-best 9.5 rebounds while shooting 61.5 percent from the field during EuroBasket.

"I'm not even thinking about the NBA now," he said. "This season I will be in Turkey. That's as far as I look."

Marcelo Huertas Took Pay Cut To Play In NBA

Sep 14, 2015 12:28 PM

Marcelo Huertas is joining the NBA as a 32-year-old rookie after a long international career.

Huertas said he turned down more money in Europe for a chance at the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I was under contract for the last six years and never had the chance to leave Europe without paying a big buyout, so this was the year I finished contract and I had a real chance to jump to the NBA," Huertas said.

"I couldn't take an early offer in Europe just to make sure I had a job," Huertas said. "If it was for money, I would have stayed in Europe. I came here to take this chance, and maybe I have a bright future in the NBA. Hopefully I can win my space in here and show what I'm able to do, and so I can stick around for many years."
