Paolo Banchero wants to play on the National Team level at some point. As of now, Banchero remains undecided if he'll play for the United States or for Italy.

Banchero's agent Mike Miller said Banchero wishes he could represent both countries, but that the young forward knows that isn't possible.

“For a youngster like Paolo it is always good to have different options. He would like to play for both national teams, but he knows very well he can’t do it. So, he will have to make a decision, but we don’t know when it will be. It could take two days or three months. At the moment we are not saying yes or no to the possibility of playing in the World Cup, it will never be a choice against one NT or the other. We will get in touch with Italy, we owe it to them. Paolo has had two meeting with Grant Hill for Team USA. He must ponder well the decision that will have an impact on the player’s next 15 to 20 years” Miller said to Sky Sport.

Paolo Banchero has said that when he suits up for a national team, he'll play for Italy. Unfortunately, that debut for the Italian National Team may be delayed for a while longer.

Banchero is unlikely to play for Italy at this summer's FIBA World Cup, according to federation president Gianni Petrucci.

“We are currently on stand-by, and if I’m being honest, I feel more pessimistic than optimistic. Banchero has been overwhelmed by events in recent months," Petrucci said. "If he won’t be with us for the World Cup, we now hope for the Paris Olympics.”
