Korver Wants To Sign With Winning Team, Hopes To Play Five More Years

Mar 30, 2013 12:16 PM

Kyle Korver figures to get his share of offers on the unrestricted free-agent market this summer.

“I think I have still got, lord willing and no injuries, four or five good years, but you never know, we’ll see,” Korver said. “At this stage of my career, to be on a bad team, I just don’t want any part of that. It is good to be here. It is always good to be in the playoffs. The playoffs are a whole other world. It is a different game. It is where you make the memories. I want to play in a good culture on a good team.”

Korver, now in his 10th season, credits his longevity to a healthy lifestyle.

“You keep on getting experience. You keep on getting smarter. You learn the little tricks of the trade,” Korver said. “I don’t depend on jumping over people and running by everyone. I stay in great shape and always keep on moving, but I don’t have to necessarily hit a certain speed all the time. I feel the best I have felt in several years. One of things you learn how to do is take care of yourself and that is something I pay a lot of attention to.”

Pachulia Out Indefinitely With Sore Achilles

Mar 15, 2013 9:13 PM

Zaza Pachulia is out indefinitely as he awaits final medical reports on his sore right Achilles.

“We are in the process of different treatments,” Pachulia said. “There is no timeframe. All I can say is it is indefinite. There is no report from the doctors yet. Basically, every day matters. We are expecting it to get better. We don’t know when or how soon. Hopefully the treatments will help.”

Pachulia is wary of tearing the tendon just months before he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.

“Obviously you don’t want to mess with an Achilles,” Pachulia said. “That is for sure. I know from Dominique (Wilkins) that he tore his Achilles and he was out for a whole year. It’s very, very dangerous. It’s a sensitive subject where I am in my career right now. I want to make sure everybody is on the same page and we make the right calls and do the right things with the treatment.”

The NBA league office announced Thursday that a foul should have been called on Dahntay Jones and two free throws awarded to Kobe Bryant in the final seconds of the Atlanta Hawks’ 96-92 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jones challenged Bryant’s jumpshot with 4.9 seconds remaining and did not give him a chance to land cleanly back on the floor.

Bryant sustained a severely sprained left ankle after coming down on Jones’ foot and will be out indefinitely.

Bucks Refused To Inclue Ellis, Ilyasova In Trade Talks For Smith

Mar 1, 2013 4:54 PM

The Atlanta Hawks fully expected to find a trade involving Josh Smith before the deadline, but ultimately were unsuccessful.

The Hawks sought Monta Ellis in trade talks with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Sources say the only player from the Bucks on a long-term deal that interested the Hawks was Ersan Ilyasova. But the Bucks declined to include either Ellis or Ilyasova in talks for Smith.

The Bucks' trade package featured Beno Udrih's expiring contract and Luc Mbah a Moute.
