Tiago Splitter plans on being ready for the start of training camp with the Atlanta Hawks after undergoing hip surgery.

Splitter was acquired by the Hawks during the 2015 offseason but missed almost the entire season.

Splitter will enter 16-17 backing up Dwight Howard at center.

The Atlanta Hawks have 17 players under contract for the start of training camp and would like to add another point guard and perhaps another big.

Bryce Cotton is a point guard that interests Atlanta. Cotton played on the Hawks' Summer League team.

Cotton appeared in five games and averaged 12.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 19.6 minutes.

Cotton has played with the Spurs and Jazz, two franchises with ties to the Hawks.
