Brook Lopez Weighs 15 Pounds Less Than He Did Last Fall

Aug 21, 2014 2:15 PM

Brook Lopez has lost weight since arriving at training camp last fall weighing 290 pounds.

“I’m at my playing weight,” Lopez said with a laugh. “I can attribute that to laying in bed for months, but I’m back to the weight that’s normal for me. Last I checked, I was just under 275 [pounds].”

Lopez does not believe carrying more weight caused him to fractured the fifth metatarsal in his foot last December.

“I may have been five pounds heavier, but that’s not what injured me,” he said.

Nets Don't Plan On Restricting Brook Lopez's Minutes

Aug 18, 2014 12:40 PM

The Brooklyn Nets are optimistic Brook Lopez will make a full return from foot reconstruction surgery this season.

The Nets believed that losing Lopez made a deep run into last season's playoffs impossible.

"Missing (Brook Lopez) didn't allow us to go further (last season)..right now, there isn't a plan to put any restrictions on him," said Billy King.
