The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to sign Milton Doyle to a two-way contract.

Doyle has played well for the Nets' G-League affiliate.

Brooklyn waived Yakuba Ouattara, who was on a two-way contract.

The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on guard Yakuba Ouattara. 

Ouattara originally signed a two-way contract with Brooklyn on July 21. He appeared in one game for Brooklyn’s NBA G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets, recording 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes.

The Brooklyn Nets are not sure when Jahlil Okafor will play as they work to incorporate him into the team.

“They know my weaknesses and strengths and I’m working with them every day to get better,” Okafor said. “They already told me what they want me to work on and like I said, I’m all in.”

He added, “[I’m] just getting used to the pace. That’s the main thing. Especially with me really not having played at all this year.”

The Philadelphia 76ers worked to trade Okafor after they declined their option on his contract for 18-19 as he fell out of their plans.

“I feel like I got drafted all over again,” Okafor said. “They’re really invested in me. That just makes me feel wanted, it makes me feel a part of this team.”

The Brooklyn Nets have made a pair of "second draft" moves in trading for Jahlil Okafor and D'Angelo Russell. The hope is that the new situation maximizes the talent that people saw in Okafor and Russell during the draft process less than three years ago.

“Well, I think in any trade or acquisition, you’re essentially going to bet on your staff,” Sean Marks said. “That’s what we’ll do.”

The Nets still have one more draft without their first round pick.

“We’re not trying to get this all back in one fell swoop, or anything like that," Marks said. "We’ll see what opportunities arise over the next year or 18 months, two years, three years and so forth. [That is] the same thing we’ve done over the last 18 months."

The Philadelphia 76ers are nearing an agreement to trade Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas and the New York Knicks' 2019 second round pick to the Brooklyn Nets and Trevor Booker.

Brooklyn will release Sean Kilpatrick to create a roster spot for Okafor and Stauskas.

The Nets have now acquired two of the top-3 picks of the 2015 draft in Okafor and D'Angelo Russell.
