Woman Files Lawsuit Against Derrick Rose

Aug 27, 2015 12:08 PM

Derrick Rose has had a lawsuit filed against him alleging sexual misconduct.

The suit was filed Wednesday by an unidentified woman who said she dated Rose from 2011 to 2013. She is accusing Rose and two friends of slipping a drug into her drink and later committing sexual acts against her will. The incident, she alleged, occurred in August 2013.

Rose's lawyer Lisa Cohen, in a statement to several media outlets, acknowledged that Rose and the woman were in a consensual, nonexclusive relationship but said the accusations are "completely false and without any factual basis."

The Bulls issued a statement early Thursday morning, saying: "We just learned about this matter and do not know all the facts. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."

Toni Kukoc has been hired by the Chicago Bulls as a special advisor to Michael Reinsdorf.

“You only have to be around Toni for a few minutes to appreciate his personality, passion, and professionalism and recognize the contributions he will make to our team in his new role,” Reinsdorf said in a statement. “Toni will work across the organization and his duties will be wide-ranging. He will bring valuable perspective that comes with experience to many areas, whether it is relating to the international players on our team or sharing what it means to be a Chicago Bull when talking to partners and fans. Toni will be a strong representative of both the team’s legacy and its future.”

Kukoc won three titles with the Bulls during his seven seasons with the franchise.

Jimmy Butler Believes His Position Is Point Guard

Aug 14, 2015 4:31 PM

Jimmy Butler is working on his ball handling and believes he could play more point guard next season.

"First off, I think I am a point guard,” Butler said without joking. “So I’ve done a heck of a lot of ball screen work, ball handling, getting into the paint and still handling, floaters, all that stuff point guards do. If I get a chance, high pick and roll more. I want some triple doubles.

"I’ve got to get my handle right so I can pass and get it to guys where they can make shots. I told Fred. You ask what position I play, I say point guard.”

Butler was also asked about his reported rift with Derrick Rose.

“We didn’t win; that’s it,” Butler said in a cut-it-out tone. “When you don’t win somebody has to find something to blame it on because we had a very good team and we were supposed to win. So why not throw out a guy like myself, who had a pretty decent year, and Derrick coming back and say they were clashing. That was a story everyone wanted to talk about and it worked. Everybody is fine. We just want to win. I laugh at it. I know what’s really going on. Everybody doesn’t. He knows. We’re fine. Whenever we win all of this is going right out the window. We start winning at the beginning of the season it’s not an issue anymore.”
