Kyrie Irving told the media that he enjoys being a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers hours after a report surfaced that he has privately told people he is unhappy.

"There’s been so much so-called reports coming out that I don’t want to be here. That’s what you guys get paid to do, but that’s just so much negative attention," Irving said after the Cavaliers' loss at the New York Knicks. "I know we’re struggling, but it’s not about me. It’s about our team. It’s about us fighting every day for each other and me fighting for my teammates. 

"Yes, I’m in Cleveland. I enjoy myself. I enjoy going out and competing at the highest level for the Cleveland Cavaliers. That’s what it’s about. It’s not about me and it’s not about this controversy, ‘Do I privately want out when my contract is up?’ I’m still in my rookie contract and I’m happy to be here. And I’m pretty sure I’m going to be here for a long time. I’m not saying anything to tell the future, but I’m pretty sure the relationship I have with Dan Gilbert and management extends off the court. I enjoy being here."

Irving said he's aware he can sign a long-term extension with the Cavaliers in the offseason.

"It’s still too early to say. I’m still trying to get through this season," he said. "Everybody is trying to antagonize this team and put it on me. I’m here for my teammates, I’m here for Coach Brown and the coaching staff and I’m going to play my heart out every single night for the Cleveland Cavaliers."

The Cleveland Cavaliers were hoping to be a playoff contender this season around Kyrie Irving, but have been terribly disappointing. The Cavaliers have missed on several draft picks and Chris Grant's job as general manager is in danger.

"Kyrie Irving has been telling people privately he wants out," wrote Chad Ford.

Irving becomes eligible for a contract extension this offseason and will presumably receive a max offer from the Cavaliers. Irving could become a restricted free agent in the 2015 offseason meaning he could not leave outright until 2016.

"The Cavs are working to try to create a winning situation and culture to make him happy," wrote Ford. "Didn't report it to say he's gone. Just trying to show why the Cavs are trying hard to right the ship right now."

Chris Grant addressed the Cleveland Cavaliers' disappointing season on Wednesday, with a 16-29 record and an 11-12 mark on their home court.

"We're all accountable for it, including myself," Grant said. "It's frustrating. It's disappointing to our fans. The fans deserve better."

"The lack of effort is just not acceptable. It's not who were are or who we want to be.''

The Cavaliers went 1-4 in their recent home stand. Grant understands Dan Gilbert wants to win but believes the Cavaliers' owner is supportive of the front office and team.

"Dan wants to win,'' Grant said. "He's passionate. People know that. I've said this before: There's a great combination of Dan Gilbert and the fans of Northeast Ohio. It's just a special combination.

"He wants to win. He's supportive. He understands. He's very involved -- as far as asking questions and debating and talking -- but in the right way, what we all would expect him to [be]. He's been great, but at the same time, yeah, he wants us to win, as do we.''

Carrick Felix has sustained a left patellar stress fracture in his left knee and is out from all basketball activity.

Felix's timetable for a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers is approximately six to eight weeks.

Felix suffered the injury Saturday while on assignment with the Cavaliers' D-League team, the Canton Charge.

Anderson Varejao tweaked his left knee on Sunday.

Mike Brown admitted he is "worried" because Varejao has been bothered by the knee and will be re-evaluated on Monday.

"I'll be fine," Varejao said. "I'm trying to stay positive."

Varejao has played well as the Cleveland Cavaliers' starting center since the team parted with Andrew Bynum.

The 2014 NBA All-Star starters were announced Thursday night on TNT.

Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Kevin Love are the starters for the Western Conference.

The Eastern Conference will be represented by Dwyane Wade, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony.

The starters selected by the fans, who vote for two backcourt and three frontcourt players.

Durant, Curry, James and George all received more than one million votes.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have assigned guard/forward Carrick Felix and guard/forward Sergey Karasev to the Canton Charge.

Felix and Karasev have spent a large part of the season in the D-League.

Mike Brown and Chris Grant have discussed sending Anthony Bennett to the NBA D-League, but the Cleveland Cavaliers do not feel ready to make the move at this point.

"We have talked about it, but I haven’t gone real deep on it with Chris,'' Brown said. "There’s a lot of learning he can do here with the team, whether it’s home or away, whether it’s us game-planning for different teams, going to the practices throughout the course of this homestand, there are a lot of benefits he can get out of it.

"We’ve had discussions, but we’re not to the point where we’d send him.''

Bennett has been a DNP-CD in four straight games. The No. 1 pick in last year's draft is averaging 2.4 points on 26.9 percent shooting this season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have recalled guard/forward Carrick Felix from the Canton Charge of the NBA D-League.

Felix has played in six games for the Charge this season, averaging 10.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 27.7 minutes per game.
