The decision by the Miami Heat in the 2013 offseason to amnesty Mike Miller drew the ire of LeBron James.

The move saved the Heat money while taking away a key locker room guy and rotation player with big game experience.

"LeBron thought it was an unnecessary change," Miller told Northeast Ohio Media Group.

Miller signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason.

"I'm not saying I would have been a difference-maker," Miller said. "San Antonio was unbelievable last year and there are a lot of things that go into a season, but it was difficult for LeBron.

"It was difficult for all of us. It was difficult for me. I had to uproot my family and move again. It was tough. I think he was disappointed because he understands legacies and he understands what he wants to do in life. That's what makes him special."

The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded Keith Bogans to the Philadelphia 76ers, according to sources.

The Cavaliers will also send a future second-round pick and create a $5.3 million trade exception in the process.

Brendan Haywood participated in all activities as the Cleveland Cavaliers opened training camp on Saturday.

David Blatt called Haywood the surprise of the day one of camp.

Haywood missed the entire 2013-14 season due to a foot injury.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have aquired Keith Bogans from the Boston Celtics in exchange for John Lucas III, Erik Murphy, Malcolm Thomas, Dwight Powell and two future second round picks, according to sources.

Bogans' contract is non-guaranteed this season at $5.3 million and next season at $5.5 million.

LeBron James admitted in an interview with Rachel Nichols on CNN's "Unguarded" that he was more likely to stay with the Miami Heat if they had won the 2014 NBA title against the San Antonio Spurs.

James left the Heat to rejoin the Cleveland Cavaliers in July's free agency.

"It's a greater chance, for sure," James said. "It would be hard to leave back-to-back-to-back championships and try to go for four. But obviously you really can't live and think of what may have happened. I've always been a person kind of live in the moment."

James also discussed the conversation he had with Dan Gilbert before re-signing with Cleveland.

"It was a straightforward conversation. It was no beating around the bush," James said. "He basically said, 'No matter what decision you make, we wanted to clear the air to where if we see each other in public or we see each other wherever, if I'm competing against you, we can always shake each other's hands and look at the fun times that we had instead of focusing on the one night."

LeBron James lost weight this offseason, going on a strict 67-day diet.

"I had no sugars. No dairy. I had no carbs. All I ate was meat, fish, veggies and fruit," James said.

James looks visibly thinner from his playing weight last season.

"I lost a ton of weight," said James. "Hopefully I can pick a couple pounds back up."

Tristan Thompson will seek a contract that begins at $11 million per season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have not yet engaged Thompson on an extension.

Thompson is represented by Rich Paul, who is also the agent of LeBron James.

Thompson will become a restricted free agent if he's unable to agree upon an extension.

Ray Allen is still undecided about playing next season but has several NBA teams awaiting his decision.

The Washington Wizards are among the teams interested in Allen. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls have also reportedly been interested.

The Wizards are "periodically" checking in on Allen.

A.J. Price will attend training camp with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Price played in 28 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.

Price has averaged 5.9 points and 38.1 percent shooting in his career.

Lou Amundson has signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers for training camp.

Amundson recently worked out for the Cavaliers.

Amundson most recently played for the Chicago Bulls.
