Nuggets Promote D'Alessandro, Bratz

The Denver Nuggets have promoted Pete D’Alessandro to Vice President of Basketball Operations and Mike Bratz to Director of Player Personnel.

D’Alessandro is in his third season with the Nuggets after joining the team in 2010 as advisor to the executive vice president of basketball operations. 

Bratz joined the Nuggets as the team’s scouting director in 2009. Prior to coming to Denver, he spent nine years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, serving as director of basketball operations and director of player personnel.

Masai Ujiri is general manager of the Nuggets.

Nuggets Assign Quincy Miller To D-League

The Denver Nuggets have assigned rookie forward Quincy Miller to the Iowa Energy, the Nuggets’ NBA Development League affiliate.

Miller (6-9, 210, Baylor) was selected in the second round, 38th overall, by the Nuggets in the 2012 NBA Draft and has yet to see action for Denver this season.

In 37 games, 35 starts, for Baylor last season as a freshman, Miller averaged 10.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 24.4 minutes.

Faried, LeBron Named Players Of The Week

Kenneth Faried and LeBron James have been named the Western Conference and Eastern Conference Players of the Week.

Faried averaged 16.8 points and 12.8 rebounds while shooting .563 (27-of 48) from the field during the Nuggets' four games of the week.

The Denver Nuggets signed another young member of their core to an extension, agreeing to a four-year deal with Ty Lawson.

The Nuggets also have Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and JaVale McGee are also on long-term deals.

"(Team executives) Masai (Ujiri) and Josh (Kroenke) do a great job of taking care of our young guys," Karl said. "I just think Ty is one of the up-and-coming point guards in our league, and he's our motor. The way we play, we need a point guard who can make decisions and get in the paint as much as possible.

"Now he can focus on the season and try to be an all-star point guard."
