Nuggets Were Hesitant To Include Jamal Murray In Offer For Paul George

Feb 23, 2017 5:51 PM

The Denver Nuggets made an aggressive offer to the Indiana Pacers at the deadline for Paul George.

The Nuggets recruited a third team in the talks but were hesitant to part with Jamal Murray for George. Murray has been one of the most promising rookies of the 2016 draft class.

Denver was also reportedly informed that George is most interested in either re-signing with the Pacers or joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.

The Nuggets made Nikola Jokic completely untouchable.

Denver was similarly aggressive in landing a star during the 2016 offseason.

Paul George Not Interested In Nuggets Long-Term After Pacers Receive 'Monster' Offer

Feb 23, 2017 5:48 PM

The Denver Nuggets conveyed a "monster" offer to the Indiana Pacers for Paul George but the talks gained no traction.

The Nuggets were told that it would be highly unlikely for George to commit there long-term.

George prefers to either remain with the Pacers or sign with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.

Sam Amick of the USA Today reports that the message being sent around the NBA is George is "hell-bent" on going to the Lakers in 2018 unless the Pacers are competing for a title.

Zach Lowe of ESPN reported that the Nuggets brought in a third team in their offer for George but were hesitant to part with Jamal Murray in the deal.

Nuggets Building Around Nikola Jokic, Considered Completely Untouchable

Feb 23, 2017 1:14 AM

The Denver Nuggets would like to make a major move but they probably don't have the assets as Nikola Jokic is completely untouchable.

"One player that everyone wants is Nikola Jokic," said Wojnarowski. "They're not trading him for anybody. Anybody! They think they have a future All-Star, a franchise player. They're building their team around him. He loves Denver. They have a guy who wants to be there."

The Nuggets will probably make any moves with more of a long-term view.

Jokic was a second round pick in 2014 and is averaging 16.3 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game this season for the Nuggets.

Feb 12, 2017 2:42 PM

The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired Jusuf Nurkic and a 2017 first round pick in exchange for Mason Plumlee.

Portland owns three picks in the talent-rich 2017 NBA draft, including its own, Cleveland’s and Memphis’ via the deal with Denver.

Nurkic gives the Blazers a talented offensive player who has more upside on defense.

Plumlee is a more established center whose ability to pass the ball is an ideal complement.

Portland has $130.7 million in guaranteed contracts for the 2017-18 season. Plumlee will be a restricted free agent in the offseason.
