Hunter Not Bitter About Suspension

Mar 26, 2007 10:22 AM

Lindsey Hunter expressed no bitterness about the severity of his suspension for taking a diet pill.

"It would be easy for me to point the finger and do things like that, but that's not me," said Hunter, the guard who returned to the team on Sunday. "My wife (Ivy) and I discussed that. This was a mistake. It was nothing that I was trying to do, nothing that was malicious or anything like that. It was a mistake, and throughout life you are going to make mistakes.

"I accept what I did and I am not going to point my fingers or say anything negative."

Hunter has been away from the team for 18 days. He said he worked out twice a day and thought his overall conditioning was good.

"I tried to keep in some kind of condition but there's nothing you can do to account for game shape," he said. "I am not going to go out there and kill myself right away."

Sheed Won't Let Technicals Affect His Game

Mar 13, 2007 12:24 PM

Until the end of the season, every other technical foul called on Rasheed Wallace will result in an automatic one-game suspension.

"It don't affect me," Wallace said after practice Monday. "I can't sit up there and think about that. I'm out there playing. I've just got to play. ? I still have to have that fire under that pot."

Wallace, who returns to the lineup on Tuesday after missing Sunday's victory over the Clippers, dismissed the notion he could try to quiet his behavior.

"It don't matter what I do," he said. "I got a tech for looking at an official. I got a tech for laughing. I got a tech for saying, 'Ball don't lie.' I got a tech for shaking my head. I got a tech for saying, 'Bad call.' It don't matter what I do. I could walk away from a guy like I did with (referee) Jack Nies -- I walked away from him, and he still gave me a tech."
