Jan 30, 2013 10:21 PM

The Toronto Raptors have acquired Rudy Gay in a three-team trade involving the Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons.

The Raptors sent Jose Calderon, who went to the Pistons, along with Ed Davis and a second round pick to the Grizzlies.

Memphis acquired Davis, along with Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye.

The Raptors will send out Jose Calderon and Ed Davis for Gay and Hamed Haddadi.

The Pistons will acquire Calderon, with the Grizzlies receiving Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye.

The Grizzlies will also receive a second round pick from the Raptors.

Toronto is likely to waive Haddadi following a buyout, reports Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Drummond Trusts Frank To Handle His Role

Jan 27, 2013 12:41 PM

Andre Drummond is averaging 20.1 minutes this season, but he has been extremely productive in the limited time, averaging 7.5 points and 7.4 rebounds.

Drummond trusts Lawrence Frank to monitor his role and adjust his playing time when the time comes.

"There comes a time," Drummond said.  "He knew I wasn't ready to play 20-plus minutes when I was first coming up.  So he gradually threw me into the game and knew how to get the best out of me and get 100 percent out of me.

"I trust Lawrence.  He knows what he's doing to get the best out of me."

Still, Drummond knows he can play five to seven more minutes if asked.

"Without a doubt," he said.

Monroe Confident He'll Adjust To Playing Alongside Drummond

Jan 24, 2013 12:24 PM

Greg Monroe will have to adapt to playing power forward, a transition necessitated by the emergence of Detroit Pistons rookie center Andre Drummond.

"It's definitely a difference on defense, especially for teams who might play small with a stretch-four," Monroe said. "On offense in our system, it isn't that big a difference, just subtle things. I have to space out more with Andre down there."

Monroe started preparing for the move to power forward last summer.

"I'll have to pop a couple more times but it's not something I'm struggling with," Monroe said. "It's something more of an adjustment on defense. For two years, I'm playing the five and I'm used to rotations coming toward the basket. It's habits that were good (playing center) that can give other guys a couple (open) shots."

Jerebko Unhappy With Bench Role

Jan 23, 2013 11:02 AM

Jonas Jerbko is averaging just 16.2 minutes per game this season for the Detroit Pistons.

Jerebko was quoted in a Sweedish newspaper saying "it's no fun" sitting on the bench and it's "not something I'm used to or that I will get used to, either."

Jerebko's father, Chris, was quoted saying he hoped Lawrence Frank wouldn't be coaching the Pistons next season.

Prince Assured Pistons Won't Include Him In Trade Discussions

Jan 14, 2013 11:09 AM

Tayshaun Prince has been assured the Detroit Pistons won’t field trade offers for him, and the two sides have “never” discussed dealing Prince, agent Bill Duffy told RealGM in an extended feature profile.

“I know there are a lot of contending teams that I can help,” Prince told RealGM. “But right now, this is the team I have to help. Everybody wants to be in the position where they have a chance of winning a championship every year, but obviously it doesn’t work that way.”

Villanueva Fined $25,000 For Flagrant Foul Two

Jan 2, 2013 5:06 PM

Charlie Villanueva has been fined $25,000 for his flagrant foul two on Isaiah Thomas during the second quarter of Detroit Pistons' 103-97 win over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, the NBA announced on Wednesday.

"He's a dirty player," Thomas said after the game, according to the Sacramento Bee. "It is what it is. He got kicked out of the game, so it wasn't nothing big. A lot of guys do stuff like that knowing you can't really fight in this league, so it's all right."
