Chauncey Billups was not disappointed in leaving the Los Angeles Clippers to sign with the Detroit Pistons this offseason, and he admits he did not like playing shooting guard next to Chris Paul.

"I definitely wasn't disappointed," Billups said. "I didn't want to be a two-guard anyway. I did it there because it's a way for me to get on the floor. You are playing behind the best point guard in the league in Chris.

"I never saw myself as a shooting guard. I never wanted to play it."

Billups averaged 8.4 points last season.

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to acquire Brandon Jennings from the Milwaukee Bucks in a sign-and-trade agreement.

Jennings will sign for three years and $24 million.

The Bucks will acquire Brandon Knight, Slava Kravtsov and Khris Middleton.

Joe Dumars has not closed any avenues to improve the Detroit Pistons, but he has made it clear that Andre Drummond is as close to untouchable as there is.

"We’re open to whatever, but it doesn’t mean you’re going to do the deal," Dumars said. "There’s a pecking order of things we would and wouldn’t do.

"Drummond is one the guys we’re certainly not looking to move at all."

The Pistons have an abundance of power forwards.

"I’m open to whatever — whatever is going to make us better," Dumars said. "That’s probably as much as I can say."

The Detroit Pistons signed Chauncey Billups this offseason, and both sides have discussed a front office job after the guard's playing career.

Billups has made clear he hopes to land a front office role once his career ends.

Billups signed a two-year contract with the Pistons recently.

Jason Maxiell has agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal with the Orlando Magic.

Maxiell has been with the Detroit Pistons since 2005.

The Magic hold a team option on the contract for 14-15 at $2.5 million.

The Detroit Pistons have discussed a sign-and-trade with the Milwaukee Bucks for Brandon Jennings.

Jennings is a restricted free agent and has a $4.5 million qualifying offer on the table from the Bucks.

Jennings is reportedly seeking a four-year, $48 million contract and whether he wants to return to the Bucks is in doubt.

The Detroit Pistons offered Brandon Knight and an expiring contract to the Boston Celtics for Rajon Rondo.

The Celtics would seek Andre Drummond, who the Pistons will not give up in a trade for Rondo.

The Pistons want to evaluate the frontcourt of Drummond, Greg Monroe and Josh Smith before making any major decisions about their future.

Andre Drummond, Kelly Olynyk, Jeremy Lamb, Victor Oladipo and Terrence Jones were named to the 2013 Orlando Summer League All-Tournament First Team.

On the Second Team were Reggie Jackson, Miles Plumlee, Ian Clark, Tyshawn Taylor and Solomon Hill.

Dwight Buycks, Michael Carter-Williams, Tony Mitchell and Mason Plumlee were amongst Honorable Mentions.

The Miami Heat defeated the Detroit Pistons by a final score of 90-85 in Summer League play on Friday.

Ian Clark had 18 points, seven assists and six steals. D.J. Kennedy scored 18 points, while Eric Griffin had 12 points and eight rebounds.

Andre Drummond had 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting and 14 rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 20 points on 7-for-14 shooting, five rebounds and four assists. Ryan Evans scored 19, while Tony Mitchell had 16 and six.

The Detroit Pistons will not use their amnesty provision this offseason.

Charlie Villanueva is a player who could be amnestied in the future.

The likely reason the Pistons will not apply the clause is the new team salary minimums.
