Oct 31, 2014 5:30 PM

Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have agreed upon a four-year, $70 millon maximum contract extension.

The deal contains no options.

The Sacramento Kings reportedly made a late push to trade for Thompson by offering anyone other than DeMarcus Cousins or Rudy Gay.

Klay Thompson, Warriors Hold No New Extension Talks

Oct 31, 2014 4:29 PM

Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have not held new extension talks ahead of Friday's deadline.

Thompson would become a restricted free agent in 2015 without a new deal.

The Warriors had an opportunity to acquire Kevin Love this offseason, but decided parting ways with Thompson wasn't worth it.

Steve Kerr said he remains "quietly confident" that a deal could get done.

Jermaine O'Neal Hasn't Ruled Out Continuing Career

Oct 30, 2014 7:06 PM

Jermaine O'Neal is not ruling out returning to the NBA for his 19th season after just turning 36.

“I can say If I don’t do well with this “being a fan” thing then I will think about playing again this year!” O’Neal tweeted Wednesday. “To be continued on this!

“But as of right now I’m enjoying working out, being a business man, watching my daughter volleyball games, and training my son! Perfect.”

Bob Myers, O’Neal’s former agent, said last month that the big man “probably” would not be with the Golden State Warriors this season as it already has three centers in Andrew Bogut, Festus Ezeli and Ognjen Kuzmic.

Warriors' Co-Owner Apologizes For Using 'Hoodish' Instead Of 'Yiddish' In Email

Oct 28, 2014 10:50 AM

Peter Guber expressed regret to team employees late Monday for listing "hoodish" as a language he planned to learn in reply to an email commending the franchise for having five international players on this season's roster. Guber said he meant to type "Yiddish," and did not realize his mistake until it was pointed out to him by a Warriors official.

Guber's email, which was sent from his phone and obtained by Yahoo Sports, came after the NBA announced in a news release earlier Monday that the league's 30 teams will have a record 101 international players from 37 countries and territories on opening-night rosters for the upcoming season.

Guber responded to the email by writing, "I’m taking rosetta stone to learn Hungarian Serbian Australian swahili and hoodish This year. But it's nice."

Guber's initial email was sent throughout the franchise and construed as "offensive" by at least one team employee. Late Monday, Guber sent a follow-up email saying he mistakenly typed "hoodish" and regretted the error.

"Someone just brought to my attention that an email I responded to earlier contains the word 'hoodish,' which I don't even think Is a Word, and certainly not the one I intended to use," Guber wrote in the email. "I intended to type Yiddish. Either my mobile fone [sic] autocorrected or it was typed wrong. In any event I regret if anyone was unintendedly [sic] offended."

Warriors Strongly Weighing Sixth Man Role For Iguodala

Oct 27, 2014 8:21 AM

Although Steve Kerr appears to be leaning toward bringing Andre Iguodala off the Golden State Warriors' bench as the sixth man, the coach admits he has a dilemma.

"I could make an argument he's been our best player, especially over the last two weeks," Kerr said. "Right now in the scrimmages, he's the most impactful player that we have. The last couple of weeks, he has sort of determined who's winning (the scrimmage) depending on what side he's on.

"So from that standpoint, you could call me an idiot. If he's my best player and I'm not starting him, maybe I'm the one who's wrong. ... The argument is absolutely there."

Iguodala, 31, battled knee tendinitis last season, but Kerr expects to use the team's depth.

"He's an incredibly smart player," Kerr said of Iguodala. "He recognizes everything that's happening on the floor in front of him on both ends. And he's a leader, so he can run a team and get guys organized. He is an absolute joy to watch out there. I can't wait to get him in the game to see him, but we're trying to put the right combinations out there to help everybody and make the team its best.

"At the end of the day, we're always going to do what's best for the team and what's going to make us the best possible team, and we'll stick to that."

Warriors' Lack Of Max Extension Offer Frustrates Thompson's Camp

Oct 26, 2014 12:51 AM

Klay Thompson's camp is frustrated that the Golden State Warriors have not offered a maximum contract in their ongoing extension talks, according to sources.

Thompson and the Warriors face Friday's nearing extension deadline.

Joe Lacob has yet to become comfortable offering Thompson a maximum deal, sources said.

A source close to Thompson said any offer shy of a max would be "absurd" considering his improvement and the influx of money to come to NBA teams from the next television contract.

Thompson averaged 18.4 points, 2.8 3-pointers, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game last season.
