Curry: Warriors Have Become 'Enticing' Destination

Jun 28, 2014 8:18 PM

Stephen Curry sees the Golden State Warriors' involvement in discussions for Kevin Love and as a possibility for LeBron James as a symbol of how the franchise has come over the past few years.

“For me, I think it’s just the testament to just where our organization is,” Curry said Saturday at his basketball camp at Stevenson School. “We’re an enticing place to play, and I think free agents understand that and people around the league understand that we are about winning.

“We have a great fan base, the best fan base in the world. Oracle Arena is a great place to play, and we’re on the rise as an organization. So for us to be in the conversations with a Kevin Love or a LeBron or whoever, I mean that’s something we probably were shoved to the side on those kind of conversations. That’s a good feeling knowing that we’ve done a lot and have a lot more to do.”

Curry said he would let the situation play out rather than make a recruiting call to James.

“I don’t think four years ago if LeBron was a free agent anybody would ask him, ‘What about the Warriors?’” Curry said. “So it’s kind of funny.”

Iguodala: Warriors Shouldn't Trade Klay Thompson

Jun 26, 2014 12:53 PM

Andre Iguodala believes the Golden State Warriors should not include Klay Thompson in a trade for Kevin Love.

“That’s not going to happen,” Iguodala said on Sirius XM on Thursday. “I want to clear that up right now. We should not trade Klay Thompson. “I tell Klay this every day. I text Klay and say, ‘Don’t worry. I’m your man. I’m going to make sure you get paid. I’m going to get you the max (contract). You’ll be taken care of. Don’t stress.’

“Klay really loves it in the Bay, and this is his first time going through trade rumors, and I’ve been through it many times, especially being in Philly. But Klay is my main man. I love Klay to death. One of my favorite people in the world even though he doesn’t speak. But we’re going to get Klay paid this year. He’s going to be a Warrior for life.

“If I’m any other team, I’d take Klay as well, so I don’t know. You’ve got to look at the pros out of it. I tell Klay this: ‘Listen, if they’re talking about trading you for Kevin Love, that means you’re getting Kevin Love money.’”

Warriors Interested In Parsons Deal If Rockets Need Help Unloading Lin

Jun 25, 2014 4:39 PM

The Golden State Warriors may be interested in trading for Chandler Parsons if the Houston Rockets need to create cap space by attaching Jeremy Lin.

Lin first played in the NBA with the Warriors.

Parsons will be a restricted free agent and the Rockets would like to re-sign him, but they are also interested in acquiring Carmelo Anthony and/or LeBron James.

The Warriors have a $9.8 million traded player exception.

Warriors Believe Trade For Love Would Make Them Viable For LeBron

Jun 25, 2014 2:58 PM

The Golden State Warriors remain interested in trading for Kevin Love, but they don't want to expand the deal beyond Klay Thompson and David Lee for Love and Kevin Martin.

The Warriors are attempting to protect their assets and also don't want to give up a future first round pick without protections.

Chad Ford said on ESPN LA 710 AM that the Warriors are also eyeing LeBron James as their next move if they are able to acquire Love.

“At the end of the day, I don’t think there’s a better Kevin Love deal for the Wolves than what the Warriors can offer, said Ford. "And I think the Warriors are very motivated to get Kevin Love in part I think not just because he’s an upgrade over David Lee, but in part because I think that now that you can have a Steph Curry and you have a Kevin Love, I think they feel at that point that they could be credible suitors for LeBron James,” Ford said.

“There are many suitors that are hoping to be credible suitors for LeBron James, but I think the Warriors can make a compelling case for him if they had Curry and Love. They’re perfect complements to LeBron James.”

The Warriors would need to clear cap space for James by trading away Andre Iguodala and Andrew Bogut.

Warriors Concerned Upgrading From Lee To Love Not Worth Trading Thompson

Jun 25, 2014 1:15 PM

The Golden State Warriors continue to be reluctant in including Klay Thompson in their trade package for Kevin Love.

At least one member of the Warriors' front office is so high on Thompson that he wouldn't trade him in a straight-up deal for Love, according to a source.

It had been believed that the Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves had agreed upon the central parts of a trade with Love and Kevin Martin coming to the Warriors for Thompson and David Lee.

The Warriors have reservations about whether upgrading from Lee to Love is not worth parting with Thompson.

Ron Adams Leaves Celtics For Warriors

Jun 22, 2014 9:56 PM

The Golden State Warriors have hired Ron Adams as assistant coach.

Adams had two seasons remains on his contract with the Boston Celtics.

“I have nothing but great things to say about the Celtics organization, Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens,” Adams said.

The move will be something of a homecoming for Adams, a California native who attended Fresno Pacific University.

Kerr, West Voice Opposition To Warriors Trading Away Thompson

Jun 21, 2014 12:39 PM

The Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves have stalled talks on a trade involving Kevin Love.

The Warriors have an "organizational split" on whether to trade Klay Thompson in a package that would acquire Love. Steve Kerr and Jerry West have voiced opposition to surrendering Thompson and a first round pick for Love.

Others in the organization are more willing to trade away Thompson.

The Warriors, Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets are the strongest trade contenders for Love.
