Andre Iguodala To Meet With Spurs, Kings To Open Free Agency

Jun 30, 2017 8:51 PM

Andre Iguodala will meet with the San Antonio Spurs when free agency opens.

Iguodala's future with the Golden State Warriors is uncertain and he'll entertain offers from other teams. The Warriors have concerns about the luxury tax in signing Iguodala to a long-term deal.

Iguodala will also receive interest from the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Brooklyn Nets and others.

Iguodala joined the Warriors in 2013 on a sign-and-trade deal worth $48 million over four seasons.

The Warriors and Iguodala so far have no plans to meet.

Ramona Shelburne reports Iguodala will also meet with the Sacramento Kings on the opening night of free agency. Iguodala also considered signing with the Kings in 2013.

Klay Thompson Signs 10-Year, $80M Extension With Anta

Jun 30, 2017 2:41 PM

Klay Thompson has signed a 10-year renegotiated extension with Anta that will take him through 2026. The deal could reach $80 million over 10 years.

“I didn’t know much about Anta,” Thompson told Nice Kicks earlier this week in Shenzen, China on the newest episode of the Nice Kicks Cast. “One of my agent’s client’s, Rajon [Rondo] was with them, and he said this brand had incredible potential and that the Chinese market, as well, was something that I could really dive into.”

Thompson is currently on a 10-day tour of China.

Thompson was attracted to Anta for the opportunity to have his own signature shoe.

"I knew with the other brands in the States, whether it was Nike or adidas, it was going to be tough for me to get a signature shoe,” admits Klay. “I knew with Anta, I would have so much input creatively. I was going to hopefully be the Michael Jordan one day of Anta. That really resonated with me, and knowing that I could be really big in China, that was really cool to me. The shoe market sometimes is overflooded in the States, and I thought, ‘Well, why not branch out and be global.'”

Warriors Could Have Interest In Dewayne Dedmon

Jun 30, 2017 2:12 PM

The Golden State Warriors will have interest in Dewayne Dedmon if they are unable to re-sign Andre Iguodala.

Golden state could potentially offer Dedmon their full midlevel exception which would start at $8.4 million.

The Warriors also had interest in signing Dedmon last offseason and instead signed Zaza Pachulia with Dedmon going to the San Antonio Spurs.

Dedmon had a career year with the Spurs after playing sparingly for the Magic.

Warriors Have Luxury Tax Concerns Re-Signing Andre Iguodala

Jun 29, 2017 4:53 PM

The Golden State Warriors have luxury tax concerns in re-signing Andre Iguodala this offseason.

Joe Lacob and ownership have been running one of the NBA's most profitable teams and the Warriors have their core signed to below fair market value contracts.

Iguodala is open to leaving the Warriors and plans to field offers beginning immediately on July 1st.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz are interested in Iguodala.

Kevin Durant Likely To Re-Sign With Warriors In Late July

Jun 28, 2017 10:55 AM

Kevin Durant will likely wait until later in July to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors.

Durant will allow the Warriors to do the majority of their offseason maneuvering before settling on his terms.

Durant is likely to take a below max one-plus-one deal in order to give the Warriors more flexibility in retaining Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston. Durant will not field any outside offers.

Durant has a $27.7 million player option for the 17-18 season that he will decline.

"Everyone expects this to be an easy process," one source said.

Durant and Rich Kleiman have become very close with Bob Myers over their year working together.

Wolves, Spurs, Clippers, 76ers, Magic, Nets, Jazz To Pursue Andre Iguodala

Jun 27, 2017 4:57 PM

The Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz are among the teams that will pursue Andre Iguodala in free agency.

The Golden State Warriors still hope to re-sign Iguodala and it is not yet known whether Iguodala will take meetings with rival teams. Iguodala joined the Warriors on a four-year, $48 million deal in 2013.

If the Jazz lose Gordon Hayward, they are expected to make Iguodala their top priority.

Shaun Livingston is another free agent the Warriors would like to re-sign.

Bob Myers Wins NBA Executive Of The Year

Jun 26, 2017 11:35 PM

Bob Myers has been named the 16-17 NBA Executive of the Year.

Myers previously won the award for the 14-15 season.

The Golden State Warriors led the NBA in regular season wins for the third straight season. Myers was critical in signing Kevin Durant in free agency and then building out a solid supporting cast despite a lack of cap flexibility.

Daryl Morey finished just two points behind Myers with 57 compared to 59. Myers received nine first place votes compared to seven for Morey. Dennis Lindsey finished third.
