Mike Dunleavy, suffering from a bad case of the flu, has lost 10 pounds. The former Duke forward will continue to start despite the sickness.
"He's been sapped pretty good," Montgomery said. "I've encouraged him to sit up and take nourishment, and I think he's trying."
Mickael Pietrus and Calbert Cheaney have been seeing more minutes while Dunleavy battles through his illness. Pietrus will threaten to take more of Dunleavy's minutes, as he scored a career-high 24 points against Denver on Monday night, in a win that sealed coach Jeff Bzdelik's fate.
Twenty-four hours after coming back to defeat the Sacramento Kings, the Warriors were led by 24 points by Mickael Pietrus to defeat the Denver Nuggets by a score of 104-101.
The Nuggets were without Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin.
Adonal Foyle's two fourth-quarter blocks moved him past Joe Barry Carroll for first on the Warriors' career blocks list with 838.
Nikoloz Tskitishvili scored 12 points for Denver. Coming in, he had scored just 15 in 10 games all season
Jason Richardson's lopsided scoring performance led the Warriors back to defeat the Kings for the first time at Arco Arena in 11 attempts. Richardson scored all of his 26 points in the second half.
"I was aware of that (losing streak), but we haven't won in a lot of places," Richardson said. "It's huge for us. Sacramento has had our number the last couple of years."
The Warriors trailed the Kings by 10 at the half and outscored them by 13 in the 3rd frame.
"The difference in the whole game was Jason Richardson; it's that simple," said Webber, who led the Kings with 28 points.
The Warriors started off very slow in the first half against the Memphis Grizzlies, trailing by as many as 15 points. Golden State had a balanced scoring attack, as all five starters were in double-figures.
Mickael Pietrus was part of the starting five on Wednesday, as Mike Dunleavy was unavailable due to the flu. The second-year player from France had 12 points for the Warriors.
Jason Richardson led all scorers with 24 points. Troy Murphy recorded yet another double-double, with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
In just his second trip back to Oakland, Gilbert Arenas made it a special one.
Arenas broke a tie with an improbable driving layup with 0.8 of a second remaining as the Wizards defeated the Warriors 103-101 at the Arena in Oakland.
Arenas finished the contest with 29 points, while his fellow former Warriors, Larry Hughes and Antawn Jamison scored 25 and 18 respectively.
Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes and Antawn Jamison played together with the Golden State Warriors in the 2001-02 season and now as members of the Washington Wizards, they will return to Oakland with an impressive 13-9 record.
"It doesn't really matter to me now; it's just a game that we want to win," said Hughes, who signed with the Wizards as a free agent in August 2002. "We went out there and lost, and the year before that we lost, too. And if you look at it, everything out there has changed."
"I went there twice last year," said Jamison, who played sparingly in those appearances. "There was all the hoopla for me. But now it's really nothing. The first time you go back it's like, 'Wow, this is where I spent a couple of years of my career.' But now it's out the window. There are no feelings at all about it."
"We feel good with what we're doing," Hughes said. "When we were there that organization was a lot like the Wizards. We were known for losing games and not knowing how to finish games. But I think this organization has turned it around and it's completely different from top to bottom in terms of changing the attitude. I'm glad I'm here."
Golden State forward Mike Dunleavy missed Friday night?s game versus the Houston Rockets. Mr. Dunleavy?s leg has bothered him for several days and he was finally unable to suit up.
Second-year player, Mickael Pietrus replaced Dunleavy at the forward positiotn. Mr. Dunleavy is listed as day-to-day.
It took over a month for the New Orleans Hornets to get their first win at home and they did at the expense of the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, winning 98-89.
The Hornets were led by Dan Dickau, who scored a career-high 25 points.
"I don't look like your typical NBA player, so I get a lot of people that pull for me because of that," Dickau said. "I'm getting a chance to play now and I'm trying to make the most of it. We start winning a little bit more and it's definitely going to be a great experience."
Troy Murphy had 25 and 12 for the Warriors in a losing effort.
