Golden State swingman Corey Maggette has come off the bench since his return from a hamstring injury and has come to prefer the role.
"Some people have got to make sacrifices," said Maggette. "I can still score and do whatever I do coming off the bench. It's not a big deal. We can ease the pain of people arguing and somebody's got to be the big man and that's fine."
He has come off the bench in seven of the team's last ten games and is thriving.
Maggette is averaging 22.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 30 minutes as a reserve.

The 2008-09 season has been rough on Don Nelson, but the way he's been portrayed in the media may be his biggest disappointment.
"I tell you what's been disappointing," said Nelson. T"hat I can't be myself anymore. That I have to be careful what I say because everybody reads so much into whatever it is I try to be honest about that I can't even talk about things that I used to. I used to be very free with the media. Very open, free and honest, and I'm not allowed to do that anymore. That's probably the worst thing that's happened."
Nelson has been criticized for somehow having a role in forcing out Chris Mullin, who is almost certainly finished in the Warriors' front office when his contract comes up.
"That really hurts him because it's not true at all," Joy Nelson said. "It's not like if somebody has an opinion on something. There's no basis in fact there."

Baron Davis probably will make the trip to Golden State with the Clippers and meet with the Bay Area media, but playing on Sunday appears to be out of the question.
"Unfortunately, but we go there another time," Davis said.
Davis suffered an injured hamstring when he was practicing Tuesday night. He had been making progress before the latest injury. The Clippers said it was not a strained hamstring but that he had some tightness in the area.
Before the Clippers faced the Lakers, Davis said he was pointing toward playing in next Wednesday night's game at Staples Center against the Chicago Bulls.
"That's the most important thing for me, is to get back on the court," Davis said. "I'm tired of conditioning. I'm tired of watching. All my life all I did was play basketball every single day. And had it taken away from me. It just puts everything in perspective.
"I'm just approaching the rest of the season with a positive attitude. I'm not paying attention to what our record is."
