The Thunder made a business decision when trading James Harden nine months ago. Now, they need to be just as cold-blooded with Scott Brooks. Brooks has consistently left points on the board in each of the last three seasons and has shown no ability to learn from his mistakes. Read More. Written by Jonathan Tjarks on May 17, 2013

Brandon Roy has narrowed his list of free agent options to the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, according to sources.
Roy expects to meet with those teams over the next few days in Seattle.
Each of the teams have a special intrigue for Roy.
The Warriors selected Harrison Barnes with the seventh overall pick, passing on a potential franchise-changing center in Andre Drummond.
Drummond was ultimately selected by the Pistons with the ninth selection.
"I’ll just say that he’s a very, very impressive athlete," said Joe Lacob. "He’s not an impressive basketball player today. I think if you’ll talk, you’ll hear that.
"There’s a reason he slipped from potentially 2 to 9. All the teams he worked out for. I guess, my estimation, watching him, we saw that. That doesn’t mean that those people all made the right decisions. He could wind up being great, right?
"How often do you get 7-footers that have his physical abilities? So it’s hard to say, nobody really knows for sure. He certainly was tempting. We debated him."
The Warriors drafted Festus Ezeli with the 30th overall pick, largely based on how he competed against Tyler Zeller in a group workout they hosted.
"He was absolutely our guy at 30 the whole time," said Joe Lacob. "There are no bones about that."
Ezeli played four seasons at Vanderbilt.
"We want big. And strong. What are we? We haven’t been big enough, strong enough, tough enough.
"I think what he is, he’s really strong, very good shot-blocker, really good defensively. Those are his strengths. I cherish the thought of having that ability to (still have) great rim protection when (Andrew) Bogut’s out of the game."
Mark Jackson was the victim of an extortion plot, according to a report from The Smoking Gun.
Jackson allegedly had an extramarital affair and shared photos of his genitalia with a former stripper named Alexis Adams.
Adams and her co-conspirator Marcus Shaw are accused of trying to extort a six-figure payment from Jackson in return for them not disseminating/selling the explicit photos to the “vultures of the media.”
Adams, 28, and Shaw, 40, have been named in felony criminal complaints filed under seal in U.S. District Court in Oakland, California.
The plot was foiled by the FBI with the cooperation of Jackson.
Jackson initially gave Shaw $5,000 in cash for a folder containing photographs and a CD, according to the document.
The photos were sent six years ago during an affair that lasted less than a year.
The Warriors released a statement indicating that they contacted the FBI when notified of the situation.
"Although not condoning his previous actions that led to the extortion attempt, the Warriors fully support Coach Jackson during this time and thank law enforcement authorities and the FBI for their prompt assistance in helping Coach Jackson and his family," the Warriors said, in their statement. "Due to the fact that this is an ongoing legal matter, the Warriors will have no further comment at this time."
Jerry West said the Warriors need a player who can contribute immediately.
“We don’t want a player you’re going to have to wait on for two years,” West said in a recent television interview. “We want someone who can play right away.”
West’s comments seem to suggest the Warriors won’t be drafting Andre Drummond, who is expected to take several years to develop.
“Here, we need someone who can play right away, provide something we don’t have,” West said. “But more importantly, be a valuable asset going forward.”
The Raptors have been aggressive in their efforts to move up from the eighth overall selection ahead of the Warriors at seven to draft Dion Waiters, according to sources.
Both Toronto and Phoenix have expressed to Waiters' agent that they would select him with their picks, according to league executives.
Waiters was initially projected as a mid-first round pick, but climbed into the lottery.
Cleveland could select Waiters with the fourth pick if Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Bradley Beal are off the board.
Golden State reportedly would like to trade a combination of its four first-round picks for Andre Iguodala, Nicolas Batum, Luol Deng, Rudy Gay, Danny Granger or Josh Smith.
NBA general managers perceive the Cavaliers, Wizards, Blazers and Warriors as preferable landing spots at the top of the draft, while the Bobcats and Kings are decided less so.
