Kevin Durant explained his decision not to meet with the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency.

“Nothing against the Lakers, but I already had my mind set on who I wanted to talk to,” Durant said. “I really respect their team. I just thought they were a couple years away from where I wanted to be.”

Durant met with the Warriors, Thunder, Celtics, Heat, Spurs and Clippers.

The Lakers are trying to rebuild around D'Angelo Russell, Brandon Ingram, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle.

Brandon Bass has agreed upon a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Bass spent last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per game.

Bass previously played for Doc Rivers with the Boston Celtics.

Larry Nance, Jr., who was injured in the 4th quarter of last night’s 88-80 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Las Vegas Summer League, was examined today in Los Angeles by team physician Dr. Steve Lombardo and hand specialist Dr. Steve Shin of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.

Results of the examination and MRI showed a sprained right wrist, but no fracture or ligament damage.

Nance will not play in the Lakers’ final Summer League game, and his status moving forward is day to day.

Larry Nance Jr. is believed to have suffered a fracture in his right hand in Thursday's Summer League game.

Nance took a nasty fall with 35 seconds left in the game after driving to the basket.

Nance has been working on extending his shooting range this summer.

The Los Angeles Lakers renounced their free agent exception rights to Kobe Bryant on July 7th.

The Lakers had to eliminate the cap hold on Bryant in order to create cap space to make their free agent signings.

Bryant retired after a 20-year career with the Lakers.

Bryant scored 60 points in his final game in the NBA.

Marcelo Huertas has agreed on a two-year deal to return to the Los Angeles Lakers. Huertas will be the Lakers' third point guard behind D'Angelo Russell and Jose Calderon.

Huertas, 33, completed his first NBA season after a 14-year career in South America and Europe.

For the Lakers, Huertas averaged 4.5 points and 3.4 assists in 53 games.

The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Jose Calderon in a trade with the Chicago Bulls.

Calderon was traded by the Bulls to clear cap space so they can sign Dwyane Wade into their cap space.

The Lakers will acquire two future second round picks from the Bulls.

Roy Hibbert has agreed upon a one-year, $5 million with the Charlotte Hornets. 

Hibbert played this past season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Tarik Black has agreed upon a two-year, $12.85 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Black averaged 9.7 points and 11.4 rebounds per 36 minutes in 39 games for the Lakers last season.

Black is a 24-year-old big out of Kansas that went undrafted.

The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to trade or waive Nick Young before the start of training camp.

Young has two more seasons remaining on his contract totaling $11 million.

Young averaged 7.3 points on a career low True Shooting Percentage of .483 in 19.1 minutes per game this past season.

Young just turned 31 and he had an off-court issue with D'Angelo Russell, who was the Lakers' No. 2 overall pick in 2015.
