Chris Bosh Vows NBA Return, Critical Of Treatment From Pat Riley

Sep 30, 2016 7:43 PM

Chris Bosh has vowed to continue fighting to return to the NBA despite the decision of the Miami Heat to move on.

"I didn't see my career in Miami ending like this," Bosh said in the latest installment of his Rebuilt video series on the Uninterrupted digital network. "I didn't get a call or a text or anything like that. I mean, it's a business. We understand that. We always say those things. But if you say certain things to the person and you win championships and you have these moments, you don't want to find things out through the media."

The NBA medical staff last week agreed with the findings of the Heat physical that ruled out a Bosh return for training camp.

"That does not mean my NBA career is over," Bosh said of the Heat stance. "There's 29 other teams, it's a whole league. One team does not make up the opinion of everything."

In a video Bosh posted, he appeared to challenge many of the touchtones the organization stressed during his six seasons.

"It's kind of tough," he said. "We say all these things: the commitment, brotherhood and all these things. And then, for whatever reason, you find out, or I find out like this. So, it hurts.

"You think when you're done playing, this is how it's going to go: You ride off into the sunset, everything is all good, you blow kisses and maybe a couple of tears are shed and everything and the people just send you off. And that's not so much the case with me. So, I guess my career in Miami's done. My career's not done. But I did not expect that at all."

Bosh reiterated what he believes is his destiny to return to the NBA.

"And I feel like it's just some higher power telling me like, 'It's not right now, because if you look at the way things are going with the organization and everything, maybe just right now isn't your time to play basketball,' " Bosh said. "And that's kind of how I took it. And, so, I hear the message loud and clear and I'm just trying to work through it, as best as I can."

Bosh said the pronouncement from Pat Riley was difficult to hear.

"I was in disbelief for a couple of seconds, and then I threw my phone down and stormed out of the room," he said. "I'm glad I didn't break my phone. I wanted to break it, but I didn't.

"This is my reality. You can either make it a good thing or a bad thing. You can either complain or you can just keep moving on. And I just decided to keep moving on."

Chris Bosh Thanks Miami Fans In Post On Blog

Sep 30, 2016 2:55 PM

Chris Bosh posted the following message on his blog as his career with the Miami Heat is likely over.

"It’s funny how things change," wrote Bosh. "All I have right now associated with basketball are my friends and memories. And I’m so thankful for those things.

"I remember just a few years ago when the Big 3 were together and we were having a ball playing the game we love with some of the most professional, talented guys the NBA has ever seen.

"I remember the fans of Miami coming out to see the show every night. The love, the compassion and the energy we felt was second to none. I want to thank the city of Miami from the bottom of my heart because things may change but the good times will last forever in my memories. Thank you!

"Things are different now and Miami has incredible young talent with a tremendous upside. These are not only talented ball players but great people and friends. I enjoyed playing with those guys and doing my best to mentor them by being an upstanding role model and veteran player. It’s their time to go through the ups and downs of the game with this great city."

Josh McRoberts Still Recovering From Broken Foot Suffered In Playoffs

Sep 28, 2016 9:18 PM

Josh McRoberts revealed he suffered a broken left foot with in last season's Eastern Conference Semifinals and played through it in Game 7.

McRoberts remains sidelined during training camp.

McRoberts has had a pair of injury-plagued seasons with the Heat.

"I completely get it, man. I completely get it," he said after completing light shooting on the makeshift courts at the Atlantis resort. "I'm the big white guy that gets hurt all the time. I wouldn't like me either, you know what I mean? So I completely understand where it comes from. So I get it. I want to be out there."

McRoberts had 10 points in the game on a broken foot in 15 minutes.

"It's not like I got hurt walking the dog," McRoberts said. "I got hurt trying to play for the Heat, trying to help the team win.

"And that's just part of it. I've had bad luck and I'm doing everything I can. I've done everything I can to be healthy. And trust me, if anybody's frustrated, it's me more so. So I definitely understand. I'm a fan of other sports, too. Your guy gets hurt, and you're like, 'Man, we need that guy. We need him to play.' So I understand it. I get it."

Pat Riley: Chris Bosh's Career With Heat 'Probably Over'

Sep 26, 2016 11:28 AM

Pat Riley believes Chris Bosh's latest health setback has apparently convinced the Miami Heat that a return from multiple bouts of blood clots is no longer feasible.

Riley told reporters Monday that Bosh's "Heat career is probably over" and that the team is not actively working toward his return.

"There is not a next step for us," Riley said. "It's pretty definitive for us in our position."

Riley was asked if Bosh's career in the NBA is over.

"That's up to him," replied Riley.

The Heat declined to explain why Bosh failed the physical and cited a clause in the collective bargaining agreement that prohibits the team from releasing certain medical information.

Chris Bosh Responds To Failed Physical, Vows To Keep Trying To Play

Sep 24, 2016 3:48 PM

Chris Bosh released a statement about his failed physical and his plans to continue his comeback attempt.

"I had the intention of releasing Episode 2 with Uninterrupted, Bosh Rebuilt today under the assumption I would be cleared to go for camp," he continued. "Unfortunately, that is not the case. But that does not stop me from trying to share my creative side with you guys and hoping that you want to come along in the journey with me. Just because the journey has ups and downs doesn't means I will stop sharing with you guys. I will just continue to share despite what's going on.

"Little setbacks happen, but that doesn't change my intentions and what I want to accomplish. So, I hope you continue to watch. I hope you continue to just take in my journey and just come along with me with the ups and downs. So, it's a down moment right now. But everything is going to be alright."

On Saturday afternoon, Bosh released Episode 2 of Rebuilt.

"Sometimes you just have to be broken down to rebuild yourself and come back better than ever," Bosh began saying in the clip. "We began to do our own research. We began to find articles. We began to find papers. We began to find other doctors who were not only forward thinking, but were specialists who could help and have dealt with athletes before. So, we decided to get smarter and just really hit the ground and just dig out as many clues as possible and we were able to find a few gems.

"The doctors I work with [say] its more so a matter of procedure. They have the formula. They take the blood. They study it. On blood thinners, off blood thinners. They get all the data possible to put their formula into it and customize it for me. It's not like I'm the first guy ever to do this. This is no experimental drug. This is a drug that people are very familiar with and numerous amounts of athletes have done this before me, which they some have been playing for years. So, it's not a matter of if I'm going to play again -- it's when.

"I'm in the gym everyday. I'm taking care of my body every day. That gives me the confidence to know that I can go out there and do my job. I'm one of the best players in the league. Whether I've been in the hospital or been in different situations it doesn't matter. I can still play the game."

Bosh recorded these clips weeks ago before he knew he had failed the physical and there was recurrence of clotting in his lung.

Chris Bosh Fails Physical, Not Cleared For Training Camp

Sep 23, 2016 12:42 PM

Chris Bosh has failed his physical and has not been cleared for training camp with the Miami Heat.

Bosh is trying to return from blood clots.

Bosh has believed he'd found a medication regimen that would allow him to return to playing by using blood-thinning drugs that would be out of his system before playing or practicing. Bosh has consulted numerous physicians for opinions on treatment.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Heat increasingly believe Bosh's career with the franchise is over. Bosh hasn't wanted to speak with Pat Riley for months.
