Carter-Williams Believes Giannis At PG Has Been 'Blown Out Of Prorportion'

Apr 15, 2016 12:26 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo emerged this season playing point guard but Michael Carter-Williams isn't willing to concede the role.

The Milwaukee Bucks lost Carter-Williams due to a torn labrum in his left hip for the final 23 games.

Jason Kidd has named Antetokounmpo as the Bucks' point guard heading into next season.

"I think this Giannis playing point guard next year got a little out of hand," Carter-Williams said during exit interviews Thursday. "I think he is definitely going to control the ball a lot more, but he's not going to guard a point guard. I'll be guarding the point guard."

Carter-Williams believes he and Antetokounmpo can coexist.

"I think that whole, 'What am I going to do now because Giannis is the point guard,' thing is a little bit blown out of proportion," Carter-Williams said.

"To be honest I don't think too much is going to change. Giannis is a talented guy, he's a potential star in this league. I think if it helps the team with him getting the ball through the offense more than that's what we want to do."

Jason Kidd's Tenure With Bucks On Shaky Ground

Apr 14, 2016 10:53 AM

Jason Kidd has received some criticism privately from the owners of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Marc Lasry, one of the Bucks' tri-majority owners, is a close friend of Kidd and brought him to the franchise.

Some believe Kidd's heart isn't into coach and were disappointed he scheduled hip surgery for the middle of the season when it could have been done in the offseason.

Kidd's coaching abilities and player personnel decision-making have been questioned.

The Bucks haven't been the same since they traded Brandon Knight in a deal for Michael Carter-Williams.

John Hammond Could Move From Bucks To Pelicans In Offseason

Apr 14, 2016 10:53 AM

John Hammond could soon be fired or step down as general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Hammond received a one-year extension from the Bucks a year ago.

Hammond is expected to end up in a similar position with the New Orleans Pelicans to reunite with Joe Dumars.

The future of Jason Kidd is also in doubt as he hasn't endeared himself to the ownership of the Bucks beyond Marc Lasry.

The Bucks somewhat surprisingly reached the playoffs in 2015 but regressed in 2016.
