Nuggets Prefer To Deal Carmelo To Nets, Kings Or Wolves

Aug 28, 2010 5:05 PM

Sam Amico of NBA.com is reporting that the Nuggets are looking at three teams as destinations for All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony -- the Nets, Kings and Timberwolves.

"Early word around NBA is Nuggets will try to trade Carmelo to 1 of 3 teams: Wolves, Kings, Nets. In other words, careful what you wish for," Amico wrote on his Twitter page.

The New York Post reported on Saturday morning that the Nets are a "legit" suitor for Anthony.

An NBA executive was quoted as saying that New Jersey as the right pieces to acquire the forward.

Love Open To Extension With Wolves

Aug 22, 2010 6:05 PM

Kevin Love is open to signing a long-term contract extension with the Timberwolves.

"I'd love to sign an extension and kind of get that out of the way," Love told HoopsHype.com.

"I'm very comfortable in Minnesota, I like the style that Kurt Rambis has and the coaching staff as well. I want to keep getting better and better and signing an extension would be a little more sweet rather than bitter sweet."

Love added that he'll likely have to wait to see what happens in negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement.

"We have to wait and see what happens with the next CBA, but I'd be happy to stay. If they wanna move me, it's up to them. I'm just going to go out there and play my butt off and try to make any team that I'm on better. I look at it like, you know very few players play their whole career with the team that drafted them."

Love Feels More Appreciated By Team USA Than Wolves

Aug 11, 2010 7:57 AM

Kevin Love admitted Tuesday that he feels more appreciated and respected with Team USA than he does the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Love started 22 games and played just 28.7 minutes per game for the lowly Timberwolves last season.

"Yes," he responded when asked if he felt more appreciated by Team USA than Minnesota. "Just a solid yes."

"I don't want to come off sounding like a prima donna or sound like I'm complaining or anything," Love clarified. "I just feel like, since I've been here, it's really been a great team atmosphere. We feel like we have a chance to win this whole thing. I think everybody is just coming in with a great attitude and appreciating everybody as a whole, and really becoming a family.

"I'm just saying in a 15-win season, last year with the Timberwolves, a lot of stuff happened...a lot of new players...we had blown up that team. Heading into this year, we need to just start becoming a family, kind of like it is here, and integrate that family atmosphere into the Timberwolves."

Team USA center Tyson Chandler is just one person that doesn't understand why the Timberwolves haven't featured Love more.

"I can't speak for their organization, but I definitely know when we play against them, he's almost No. 1 on the scouting report, as far as big guys go," Chandler said. "[The coaches] definitely pay attention [to him]. They talk about him being the first player on the floor."

Aug 7, 2010 5:30 AM

In a YouTube video, Anthony Tolliver spoofs LeBron James' decision to announce that he was signing with the Heat on live television.

Tolliver will sign with the Timberwolves as a free agent.

"The Decision: Part Deux!!" features a woman off camera asking Tolliver when he made his decision.

"Um, I think I made my decision this morning while using the bathroom," Tolliver replies. "It just came to me."

The woman inquires further.  "So, are you going to let us know your decision?"

Tolliver then spends time writing a note on a piece of paper to draw out the suspense.

"I will be taking my services to the north, the Minnesota Timberwolves," Tolliver finally says, holding up the notebook scrap as a wolf howls in the background.
