Kevin Garnett: If LeBron Can Go Home, Why Can't I?

Feb 24, 2015 4:22 PM

Kevin Garnett returned to the Minnesota Timberwolves nearly eight years after he was traded to the Boston Celtics.

Garnett won a title in 2008 with the Celtics as the Wolves were unable to build an adequate supporting cast around him.

Garnett encouraged LeBron James to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010 and Garnett was apparently inspired by James' return home this season.

"I figure if LeBron can go home, then s***, why can't I?" said Garnett.

Garnett brings veteran leadership to a talented young core.

"This is probably the most talent on the team since it has been assembled. The talent here is endless."

Windhorst: Wiggins Would Have Remained With Cavs If He'd Signed With Rich Paul

Feb 20, 2015 1:39 PM

Before Andrew Wiggins' freshman season at Kansas began, Rich Paul was considered the favorite to become his agent.

Paul also represents Canadians cush as Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph and Myck Kabongo.

Wiggins ultimately chose Bill Duffy with Roc Nation as the runner-up.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports Wiggins wouldn't have been traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers if he had signed with Paul's agency.

When the Cavaliers signed James, they believed they were going to keep Wiggins and trading for Kevin Love wouldn't have had to include the first overall pick of the draft. James left Wiggins out of the his return to Cleveland letter and he was soon included in trade talks.

Nets, Thunder Close To Brook Lopez For Reggie Jackson Trade

Feb 19, 2015 12:43 PM

The Brooklyn Nets are close to trading Brook Lopez to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a package for Reggie Jackson.

The Nets, however, need to believe they will be able to convince Jackson to re-sign in the offseason. Jackson will be a restricted free agent. Jackson turned down a four-year, $48 million extension with the Thunder.

The Thunder have had interest in Lopez dating back to the 2008 NBA Draft.

The Thunder would include Kendrick Perkins and Perry Jones as part of the package.

The deal could also be expanded to send Jarrett Jack to the Washington Wizards and Kevin Garnett to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Warriors, Hawks, Blazers In Top-10 On Both Offense, Defense

Feb 12, 2015 12:53 PM

The Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers enter the All-Star break as the only three teams in the NBA ranked in the top-10 in both offense and defense.

Fourteen other teams are in the top-10 in either offensive or defensive efficiency.

The Chicago Bulls ranked second in defensive efficiency last season and 28th on offense, but they are currently 9th on offense and just 13th on defense.

Teams that contend for a championship in the NBA typically are in the top-10 in both categories, or are particularly dominant on one end of the floor.

The current top-10 in efficiency differential consists of the Warriors, Hawks, Clippers, Mavericks, Blazers, Grizzlies, Raptors, Spurs, Rockets and Cavaliers.

The old/young distinction is based on the average age of players who play 15 or more minutes per game.
