The Brooklyn Nets have named Paul Westphal, John Welch, Tony Brown, Joe Wolf and Jay Humphries as assistant coaches.

Jim Sann will serve as an assistant coach/advance scout on new head coach Lionel Hollins' staff.

Hollins replaced Jason Kidd as coach this offseason.

The then-New Jersey Nets picked Kyle Korver with the 51st overall selection in the 2003 NBA Draft and sold his draft rights to the Philadelphia 76ers for $125,000.

The cash covered the Nets' Summer League bill and they spent the leftover money on a new copy machine.

Korver developed into one of the NBA's most valued swingmen.

“We gave away a good player for summer league,” says Rod Thorn, the Nets GM at the time. “It was just one of those things we had to do. At least, that’s how I rationalized it.”

“The game over the last four or five years has become so much more suited to the way he plays today,” says Jerry Sloan, who coached Korver in Utah.

Multiple current GMs say passing on Korver in the draft ranks as one of the worst mistakes of their respective careers.

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a three-year, $10.1 million deal with Bojan Bogdanovic.

Bogdanovic was the 31st overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Bogdanovic averaged 13.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 61 games last season with Fenerbahce Ulker.

Paul Pierce became an option for the Washington Wizards in free agency following the surprising departure of Jason Kidd, according to sources.

The Wizards sent Sam Cassell to meet with Pierce in Las Vegas, as the two were formerly teammates with the Boston Celtics. Cassell is an assistant coach for the Wizards.

Marcin Gortat, John Wall and other Wizards sent Pierce texts and also placed calls.

The Wizards turned to Pierce when they stood firm on their price for Trevor Ariza.

Alan Anderson has signed a two-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets worth approximately $3 million.

The 15-16 season of the contract is a player option.

Paul Pierce will sign with the Washington Wizards on a two-year deal at the mid-level exception for $10 million. The second season will be a player option.

The Wizards were on the market for a small forward following the departure of Trevor Ariza.

Pierce spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets.

Tim Bontemps of the New York Post reports that the Nets were given the opportunity to re-sign Pierce, but passed. The Nets would have had to pay upwards of $20 million in luxury taxes to re-sign Pierce.

The Milwaukee Bucks have hired Joe Prunty as Jason Kidd's top assistant coach.

Prunty was an assistant coach last season with the Brooklyn Nets.

Prunty was previously an assistant for Byron Scott with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Like Kidd, Prunty is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics have agreed upon a three-team trade.

The trade allows the Cavaliers to create approximately $24 million in cap space, with LeBron James' max contract being worth $20.7 million. The Cavaliers also acquire the draft rights to three Nets' prospects (Ilkan Karaman, Christian Drejer and Edin Bavcic).

The Nets will acquire Jarrett Jack and Sergey Karasev.

The Celtics acquire Tyler Zeller, Marcus Thornton and the Cavaliers' 2016 first round pick. Boston will have $33 million in contracts coming off the books in Thornton, Rajon Rondo, Brandon Bass and Joel Anthony.

Andray Blatche will meet with the Toronto Raptors in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Blatche has been with the Brooklyn Nets since 2012 and turns 28 in August.

Paul Pierce is seeking a two-year contract worth $9 million to $10 million per season.

Pierce spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets and there is mutual interest for his return.

The Los Angeles Clippers are also interested in Pierce.
