Eric Gordon Dealing With Tendinitis In Good Knee

Mar 26, 2014 1:09 PM

Eric Gordon has missed two straight games, but he is confident there is nothing serious or structurally wrong with his left knee.

"It's feeling better," he said. "I just had a little episode during the game. I had a little knee tendinitis but nothing very serious. It's getting a little bit better and I'll start ramping things up."

Gordon had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in 2013, but he hasn't any issues with his left knee before the Hawks game.

"I never have (had problems with the left knee)," Gordon said. "But I'll be fine. It's just a little flare up."

Tyreke Evans Has Surged Since Becoming Starter

Mar 25, 2014 2:15 PM

Tyreke Evans has become the second best player on the New Orleans Pelicans since being inserted into the starting lineup on Feb. 28.

Evans scored a season-high 33 points on Monday, just two off his career high, and had 10 rebounds and seven assists, helping the Pelicans win for the fourth time in their last five games.

"Tyreke has the ability to play at a high level every single night and that's my biggest thing for him," Pelicans coach Monty Williams said. "Every possession counts. I am going to continue to demand that from him because I think he has abilities that not a lot of people have."

Evans is averaging 22.3 points, 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game in his 11 starts.

Evans also seems to be meshing well with Anthony Davis.

"We just communicate on the floor," Evans said. "We have a good relationship. We just push each other to try and be the best we can be on the court. We've been doing good with that so far."

Anthony Davis Focused On Improving, Not Considering Where He Ranks

Mar 22, 2014 1:40 PM

Anthony Davis has had such an outstanding second season in the NBA that some people believe he is already the third-best player in the NBA behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Davis was asked if he's given any thought to that possibility.

"Nah, you can’t think about that," said Davis. "Maybe down the road, but right now I just have to get better. It’s about winning, doing the job, helping my team get better."

Davis ranks fourth in the NBA in PER.

Pierre Jackson is expected to play for the Summer League team of the New Orleans Pelicans this July.

Jackson's draft rights are owned by the Pelicans, but he left the D-League to play in Turkey after the trade deadline.

Jackson had been one of the D-League's most productive players, but the Pelicans didn't have a roster spot available for him.

Pelicans Unsure On Signing Pierre Jackson For Next Season

Mar 11, 2014 12:34 AM

Dell Demps said Monday that there are no guarantees that the New Orleans Pelicans will sign Pierre Jackson to a contract for next season.

The Pelicans have watched Jackson in the NBA D-League and overseas and like the 5-foot-10 point guard.

Jackson was acquired by the Pelicans after going in the second round of the NBA Draft last year but never signed a rookie deal with the organization.

Jackson averaged 29.1 points and 6.2 assists while shooting 44.9 percent from the field in 31 D-League games.
