Jrue Holiday Two Weeks Away From Having Minutes Restriction Lifted

Dec 17, 2015 12:35 PM

Jrue Holiday is two weeks away from having his minutes restriction lifted.

Holiday played 29 minutes on Monday, a couple more than the restriction allows for.

"We cheated a little bit ... I didn't think two minutes was going to make a major difference in that situation," Gentry said. "We've got two more weeks to go and everything's lifted. For Jrue, it'll be a little bit easier for him because in certain situations where he gets going, we have to then turn and take him out because we have preserve some of the minutes. When all of that is lifted, the consistency in his game will be better also."

Holiday currently has a PER of 29.0 during the month of December.

Pelicans Engage With Suns On Markieff Morris Trade Talks

Dec 8, 2015 1:17 PM

The New Orleans Pelicans have interest in trading for Markieff Morris.

The Phoenix Suns and Pelicans have held preliminary talks on a trade.

Morris' pending felony aggravated assault charges, however, remains an obstacle to a trade.

The Pelicans would like to pair Morris with Anthony Davis.

Morris has been hounding the Suns for a trade since they traded his brother, Marcus Morris, to the Detroit Pistons in July.

Morris has fallen to third on the struggling Suns’ depth chart at power forward.

The Pelicans are willing to part with Ryan Anderson in a deal. Anderson is making $8.5 million in the final year of his contract.

Anthony Davis: We Need To Stop Playing Selfish Basketball

Dec 2, 2015 12:01 PM

The New Orleans Pelicans continue to struggle to start the season, losing on Tuesday to the Memphis Grizzlies despite the return of Tyreke Evans.

"We have to play together, harder and tougher," said Anthony Davis. "We are just trying to find a way to win. Whatever we have to do to win. We need to become closer as a team and believe in each other. We need to stop playing selfish basketball."

"We are not competing from start to finish," Alvin Gentry told reporters after back-to-back losses at the Clippers and Jazz. "Some kind of way as a coach, I've got to get them to do that. Or I'm going to have to play guys that do. I've got to play guys that will compete. Five guys that will compete. I've got to get them out on the floor."
