Eric Gordon To Receive Medical Evaluation For Injured Hip

Eric Gordon will undergo another medical evaluation on his injured hip before a determination is made on his return to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Gordon said his hip is extremely sore after suffering the injury in Monday's game against the Sacramento Kings.

"It’s very sore and I’m going to get it checked out and see what goes on from there,’’ Gordon said on Friday. "I want to see those results first.’’

Gordon also walked with discomfort and a slight limp on Friday.

Alexis Ajinca Close To Two-Year Deal With Pelicans

Alexis Ajinca is on the verge of a two-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Ajinca is finalizing a buyout with Strabourg of France.

The Pelicans and Strasbourg have agreed on the standard $575,000 buyout under NBA rules.

Ajinca will sign a fully guaranteed two-year deal at the NBA minimum.

The Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans have strongly denied an Internet report that the teams have discussed a deal centered around Zach Randolph for Ryan Anderson.

Randolph is in the final season of his current deal with the Grizzlies and doesn't figure to be on the same timetable of the Pelicans' young core.

Tyreke Evans Out 1-2 Weeks With Left Ankle Sprain

Tyreke Evans has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain. The injury occurred during the third quarter of the December 6 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Evans is expected to miss 1-2 weeks.

In 19 games this season, Evans is averaging 11.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.3 steals in 24.9 minutes per game.

Anthony Davis To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Fractured Left Hand

Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal of his left hand and is expected to miss four to six weeks, the New Orleans Pelicans announced Tuesday.

The injury occurred during the first quarter of the Dec. 1 game against the New York Knicks.

Davis underwent further evaluations by team doctors on Tuesday morning in New Orleans.

Davis is averaging 18.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.6 blocks this season.

Davis will be out indefinitely.

Davis is second in the NBA in PER behind LeBron James and was a strong candidate for the All-Star Game, which will be hosted in New Orleans.
