Sonics' Fans Move Forward With Suit

Nov 26, 2008 8:54 PM

A suit filed just over a year ago against the Oklahoma City owners by three Sonics season ticket holders continues to push forward in U.S. District Court.

Sonics' fans Robert Brotherson, Patrick Sheehy, and Carolyn Bechtel recently filed an amended class-action complaint seeking to have all season ticket holders from the team's final season at KeyArena be granted the right to buy Thunder tickets at Oklahoma City's Ford Center for the 2009-10 season at the same price and priority as they believe was guaranteed to them by the former owners in Seattle.

Durant Shifts From Guard To Forward

Nov 25, 2008 10:29 AM

Rookie coach Scott Brooks has already left his mark on the Thunder, moving Kevin Durant from shooting guard over to small forward.

Durant won the Rookie of the Year award as a guard, but many around the game believe that the small forward position best suits his frame and game.

"I definitely am," Durant said of his readiness for the move. "That?s my natural position. I?ve been playing that mostly my whole life. The last game I felt a lot more comfortable at (small forward), guarding (small forwards) and just helping my team out in different areas. So I?m excited."

Durant is expected to see both his field goal percentage and rebounding numbers increase as a result of the move.

Avery Johnson In Oklahoma City's Future?

Nov 24, 2008 4:22 PM

If things don't go well for Scott Brooks as the head coach of the Thunder, it is believed that Avery Johnson could be in the team's future plans.

Johnson has San Antonio ties with Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti and played junior college basketball in Oklahoma.

With guys like Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, and Russell Westbrook, two first round picks and $25 million in cap space, the Thunder could become an attractive job.

Scott Brooks Named Thunder Coach

Nov 23, 2008 10:42 AM

Scott Brooks has been named the interim coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder for remainder of the season.

General Manager Sam Presti fired coach P.J. Carlesimo following Friday's loss to the Hornets.

Presti gave Brooks his first head coaching job rather than hiring a veteran coach like Avery Johnson, Flip Saunders, or Jeff Van Gundy.

"Scott is someone I feel will bring great preparedness and energy, abilities, and experience to our basketball team," Presti said Saturday afternoon. "I?m excited to see him work with our players. I think he will be great for our team and our community."

Watson: 'Everyone Failed, Not Just P.J.'

Nov 23, 2008 3:38 AM

Not even one month into their debut season in Oklahoma City, the Thunder are already onto their second coach, but it is not right to lay all the blame for the Thunder's 1-12 record at the feet of former coach P.J. Carlesimo, guard Earl Watson told The Oklahoman.

?Everyone failed, not just P.J. So you wish the best for him. You wish you could have done a lot more to help him,? said Watson.
