Knicks Gaining Some Traction Getting Informal Meeting With Kevin Durant

Jun 30, 2016 11:40 PM

The New York Knicks continue to try to get at least an informal meeting with Kevin Durant.

There has been some traction lately of the Knicks being able to get an audience with Durant.

Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and even Joakim Noah have reached out to Durant in attempts to recruit him to the Knicks.

Durant is uncertain if he would like to live in New York and he's also dubious about their chances of contending for a title immediately.

Kevin Durant's Meeting With Thunder 'Further Solidified His Belief' He'll Re-Sign

Jun 30, 2016 11:53 PM

Kevin Durant met with the Oklahoma City Thunder for several hours on Thursday ahead of the start of free agency.

"The meeting further solidified his belief" that Durant will re-sign with the Thunder, according to Wojnarowski.

Durant is going into the meetings with rival teams with an open mind.

"Golden State has the best chance amongst the five (rival) teams," said Wojnarowski.

Durant is also intrigued by the Los Angeles Clippers. Durant loves the city of Los Angeles and is good friends with Chris Paul, while the presence of Steve Ballmer is also considered an ancillary benefit.

Durant is expected to make his decision by the end of July 4th.

Thunder Explore Enes Kanter Trade Scenarios

Jun 30, 2016 11:03 PM

The Oklahoma City Thunder are exploring trade scenarios involving Enes Kanter.

The Thunder matched a four-year, $70 million offer sheet Kanter signed with the Portland Trail Blazers last summer.

Oklahoma City traded Serge Ibaka to the Orlando Magic on draft night and now have interest in Al Horford.

Kanter has veto power over any trade until July 12th and also has a 15 percent trade kicker.

Longtime Friend: Kevin Durant's Decision '90 Percent Made'

Jun 30, 2016 3:40 PM

Kevin Durant is widely expected to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder for at least one more season.

Durant will meet with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs.

“His decision is 90 percent made. It would take an amazing sales pitch to change it,” said one of Durant’s longtime friends.

Another Durant colleague said, “It’s going to take some sweet-talking to get him to pass up all the money he can get by staying in OKC.”

Clippers Want Blake, Paul, DeAndre In On Durant Meeting To Pitch Big 4

Jun 30, 2016 3:44 PM

The Los Angeles Clippers are inviting Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul to their meeting with Kevin Durant.

The Clippers hope to pitch Durant on forming a Big 4.

Los Angeles would need to eliminate most of the rest of their team to sign Durant to even a below max deal while keeping Griffin, Jordan and Paul.

There had been speculation that the Clippers would trade away Griffin to create space for Durant should he want to sign with the team.

Thunder Will Pursue Al Horford

Jun 30, 2016 10:08 AM

The Oklahoma City Thunder are pursuing Al Horford and have been making calls around the NBA looking to clear a massive amount of cap space.

Horford played for Billy Donovan at Florida and the two remain close.

The Thunder have a vacancy at power forward following their trade of Serge Ibaka to the Orlando Magic.

Enes Kanter and Kyle Singler have been shopped to teams with cap space.

In conversations with rival teams, the Thunder have indicated they will know which route they are taking early in July.

Warriors' Players Have Been Recruiting Kevin Durant All Season

Jun 29, 2016 1:33 PM

The Golden State Warriors' front office has long been planning to pursue Kevin Durant and several of their players reached out to him throughout the season.

"Here's the thing that's interesting about Golden State: their players have been recruiting Kevin Durant all year," said Wojnarowski. "It goes back to earlier in the season when the Thunder were struggling. I don't know that Golden State saw them as a peer or as a threat. They weren't playing great. They were in that mid-range in the west.

"Kevin Durant was hearing from guys on the Warriors about 'hey, you can help take the pressure off Steph Curry. We need you.'

"This was when they were running off win after win after win. They had him on their mind. It appealed to him.

"It's text messages, it's a lot of that. But the communication with some of the players of Golden State and Kevin, that's not just starting now."
