The Phoenix Suns were prepared to "go after (Brandon Knight) hard" in the offseason before trading for him at the deadline.

Knight will be a restricted free agent and their chances of re-signing him are significantly higher than if they were to pursue him in the open market.

The Suns traded the Los Angeles Lakers' future first round pick to acquire Knight.

The Suns believe Knight is a good complement at off guard to Eric Bledsoe.

Erik Spoelstra said the Miami Heat have tried to acquire Goran Dragic in past seasons.

Dragic was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Heat on Thursday.

The Phoenix Suns have called up center Earl Barron on a 10-day contract, league sources told RealGM.

Barron recently returned to the Suns’ D-League affiliate, the Bakersfield Jam, after a brief stint in the Chinese Basketball Association. Phoenix has needed a big man in a pinch after trading away Miles Plumlee.

Barron has spent the majority of the season with Bakersfield, averaging 20.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.

Barron, a seven-footer, has played for seven different teams over eight NBA seasons.

The Boston Celtics traded for Isaiah Thomas from the Phoenix Suns for the 2016 first round pick the team had previously acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Thomas is on the first year of a four-year, $27 million deal.

The Celtics also had interest in Thomas last year when exploring a Rajon Rondo trade with the Sacramento Kings.

Brandon Knight has been traded to the Phoenix Suns, while Michael Carter-Williams, Tyler Ennis and Miles Plumlee will go to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Philadelphia 76ers will acquire picks as part of the deal, including the Los Angeles Lakers' 1-5 protected for 2015 first rounder from the Suns.

Knight will be a restricted free agent in the offseason.

The Suns also acquired Kendall Marshall, who is out for the season and will be waived.

The Miami Heat have acquired Goran Dragic from the Phoenix Suns.

The Heat sent two future first round picks to the Suns as part of the deal. The Suns received Miami’s 2017 first-round pick (protected to seven) and Miami’s unprotected 2021 first-round pick as part of the deal.

The Heat also traded out Danny Granger, Norris Cole, Shawne Williams and Justin Hamilton.

Cole and Hamilton will go the New Orleans Pelicans.

Dragic requested a trade from the Suns this week with the Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks as his preferred destinations.

The Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings also had interest in Dragic.

The Miami Heat are offering two future first round picks to the Phoenix Suns for Goran Dragic.

The Heat are the only team on Dragic's list of preferred destinations that remain in the playoff picture.

If the Heat complete the trade, they effectively would have just one first round pick between now and 2019.

Update: The Heat also are offering Norris Cole, Josh McRoberts and Chris Andersen.

The Phoenix Suns are pursuing trades outside the preferred list of Goran Dragic, which is believed to feature the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.

The Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings have aggressively discussed trade scenarios for Dragic with the Suns.

The Kings, however, are becoming increasingly hesitant about dealing for Dragic due to concerns he wouldn't re-sign in the offseason.

Both the Kings and Rockets have been warned that Dragic will not re-sign.

The Suns are seeking a package built around a young player with significant potential, as well as one or two first round picks.

The Phoenix Suns are attempting to attach Zoran Dragic to any trade involving Goran Dragic.

The Suns signed Zoran Dragic in the offseason to a two-year deal, "largely as a way to make (Goran) more comfortable with re-signing with the organization," according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Zoran has appeared in just six games this season with the Suns.

Goran Dragic prefers to be traded before the deadline by the Phoenix Suns because he's lost trust in the franchise.

"I don't trust them anymore," Dragic said following Wednesday's practice session. "It happens too many times. Two, three times.

"They give promises, OK. It's hard. But at the same time, I wish them all the best. They were great to me the past five years. I'm always going to have a good memory about Phoenix fans and the city. I just hit that point of my career that it's better for me and my family to move on."

Dragic lost trust in the Suns because they brought in other point guards twice in Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas.

On Wednesday, Dragic underscored the importance of that role change.

"I don't feel comfortable with my situation," he said, adding, "It's just different. Standing in the corner, it's not my game. I see that we're not going the right direction. That's why I take action and try to put myself in a better position."

Dragic plans to leave the Suns even if they trade Thomas before the deadline.

Dragic said "it was an easy decision" to request a trade.
