The Philadelphia 76ers have received permission from the Portland Trail Blazers to interview David Vanterpool for its head coaching vacancy.

The 76ers have been without a head coach since parting ways with Doug Collins.

Ian Clark is receiving interest from the Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz following a strong performance in Summer League.

Clark played for the Warriors in Las Vegas and for the Miami Heat in Orlando.

"I'll sit down with my agent and family and talk about," Clark said. "I don't know too many details. But I want to make the right decision.

"I'm trying not to pay attention to what I can't control. I just wanted to come out, play basketball and play well."

Clark is a 6-3 combo guard that is also receiving interest from European teams.

Clark played collegiately at Belmont.

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by a final score of 72-66 in Summer League play on Friday.

Lorenzo Brown led the Wolves with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Shabazz Muhammad had six points on 2-for-8 shooting.

Terrel Harris had a game-high 25 points for the Blazers.

The Phoenix Suns defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by a final score of 92-84 in Summer League play on Thursday.

Markieff Morris led the Suns with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Meyers Leonard had 15 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort for the Blazers. C.J. McCollum scored 22 and Will Barton added 21 and 8.

The Portland Trail Blazers and representatives of LaMarcus Aldridge met recently to discuss trade scenarios, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Blazers have had talks with Chicago about Joakim Noah, with Minnesota about Kevin Love, with Los Angeles about Blake Griffin, with Atlanta about Al Horford and with New Orleans regarding Anthony Davis.

Those teams have declined to involve their players in any potential deals for Aldridge, a source said.

Neil Olshey is reportedly in no rush to facilitate a deal for Aldridge, who has two years and roughly $30 million remaining on his contract.

The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 70-69 in Summer League play on Wednesday.

Thomas Robinson had 13 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks. C.J. McCollum scored 19 points on 5-for-14 shooting.

Mike Scott had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks.

The Chicago Bulls beat the Portland Trail Blazers by a final score of 80-78 in Summer League play on Tuesday.

Tony Snell led the Bulls with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Marquis Teague scored 25 points on 7-for-14 shooting and 8-for-12 from the line.

C.J. McCollum led the Blazers with 27 points and six rebounds, while Thomas Robinson had 12 points and 18 rebounds.

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by a final score of 81-63 in Summer League play on Sunday.

Lester Hudson led the Lakers with 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting and five rebounds. Robert Sacre had eight points and eight rebounds.

Will Barton had eight points, seven rebounds and three assists to lead the Blazers. Thomas Robinson had seven points on just 3-for-12 shooting and 10 rebounds.

LaMarcus Aldridge endorsed the Portland Trail Blazers’ acquisition of Robin Lopez.

Aldridge reportedly wanted a trade from the Blazers last season.

"I think LaMarcus is pleased,” Neil Olshey said in a press conference on Thursday. “Clearly he and Robin Lopez are represented by the same agent so they've been in contact. He was a part of the process during this. Look, LaMarcus' key was to get a big body next to him so he's not always thrown to the wolves down crunch time playing the five or being guarded by fives. It was a concern for us as well. We don't want him getting beaten up and worn down at the end of every year because he's a power forward that we've forced to play the five because we didn't have anybody watching his back on the weakside and on the other block.

“So I think bringing someone like Robin in that knows his role. He'll score with opportunity but he's not a guy that's going to demand touches. We have enough firepower with our other four guys in the starting lineup that, it's not going to effect them offensively, but clearly it's going to make them all better defenders."

Lopez averaged 11.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.56 blocked shots in 26 minutes last season for New Orleans.
