Darren Collison will have surgery on Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury that will likely end his season.

Collison suffered a strained hip flexor on Feb. 5 and hasn't played since.

Collison will be re-evaluated three to six weeks after the surgery and there is no timetable for his return.

The Sacramento Kings signed Collison in the offseason.

Dean Oliver is one of basketball's pioneers of advanced analytics and participated in a discussion about its place in the game.

Oliver was asked to dispel the myth that "stat guys don't even watch the games."

"A good scout, a good analyst, they go and they watch the game," said Oliver. "Your eyes see the game much better than the numbers. But the numbers see all the games. And that's a big deal....They see all the detail and they really get you a lot of the story....Watching on video and going to games, those add different components to what the numbers can give you....And then there are other things that you have to talk to people about. You have to talk to the coaches."

Oliver currently works for Vivek Ranadive and the Sacramento Kings.

George Karl would like the Sacramento Kings to try to trade for Ty Lawson.

The Denver Nuggets are rebuilding and could make Lawson available.

Karl previously coached Lawson with the Nuggets.

Andre Miller is interested in re-signing with the Sacramento Kings in the offseason.

Miller was traded to the Kings by the Washington Wizards at the deadline.

Miller turn 39 next month.

Vance Walberg has been hired by the Sacramento Kings as an assistant coach.

Walberg was previously on Karl's staff with the Denver Nuggets. Walberg formerly was head coach at Pepperdine.

Walberg is best known as the creator of the dribble-drive offense.

David Stockton will be signed by the Sacramento Kings on a 10-day contract.

Stockton had been playing with the Reno Bighorns of the D-League.

Stockton gives the Kings backcourt depth.

The Sacramento Kings have acquired Andre Miller from the Washington Wizards for Ramon Sessions.

Miller reunites with George Karl, who was hired by the Kings over the All-Star break.

The Phoenix Suns are pursuing trades outside the preferred list of Goran Dragic, which is believed to feature the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.

The Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings have aggressively discussed trade scenarios for Dragic with the Suns.

The Kings, however, are becoming increasingly hesitant about dealing for Dragic due to concerns he wouldn't re-sign in the offseason.

Both the Kings and Rockets have been warned that Dragic will not re-sign.

The Suns are seeking a package built around a young player with significant potential, as well as one or two first round picks.

Goran Dragic prefers a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks or Miami Heat, but the Phoenix Suns are much more focused on holding discussions with the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings.

Dragic will be a free agent this offseason and both the Knicks and Lakers will have cap space to make a four-year, max offer.

Dragic can only receive a five-year contract from the team that he finishes the 14-15 season with.

"I don't trust them any more," said Dragic on Wednesday to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic in reference to the Suns' front office.

The Sacramento Kings want Goran Dragic "bad", according to a source.

The Kings could move Nik Stauskas and Jason Thompson in order to create max contract space to sign Dragic in the offseason.

Dragic has told the Phoenix Suns that he doesn't plan on re-signing in hte offseason.
